Zavod Krog is launching a new project in North Macedonia: Harvesting Hope: Community Rainwater Systems and Gardening for Gender Justice.

The project aims to contribute to poverty reduction and improve the quality of life for vulnerable communities, with a particular focus on women, by ensuring access to safe drinking water and strengthening knowledge and skills in sustainable gardening.

In collaboration with local partners, the project will:

  • Establish community-based rainwater harvesting and drinking water treatment systems
  • Promote sustainable urban and rural gardening
  • Create community gardens and irrigation systems
  • Deliver educational workshops for local authorities, professionals, and youth on sustainable development, water, environmental stewardship, and gender equality

The project is implemented together with the local partner Legis and other expert partners from January 2026 to September 2028. It is financially supported by the Slovenian Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs as part of international development cooperation.

Through this initiative, Zavod Krog and its partners aim to build a sustainable future filled with hope and opportunities for the communities involved.
