General Information

"Equality for Training and Human Rights" (ETHR) is a non-profit civil society organization that works to build a just and equal society where all individuals enjoy their full rights without discrimination. The organization strives to promote human rights and equality, provide safe spaces, confront all forms of violence, and support cultural diversity and sustainable tourism through preserving cultural heritage and encouraging small and medium-sized enterprises. ETHR also contributes to achieving sustainable economic development, combating climate change in our region, and providing job opportunities, with special attention to political empowerment.

As part of its efforts, the organization established a strong feminist network named "Feminist Solidarity Network for Change". This powerful network embodies the strength of collective action, led by Equality for Training and Human Rights, and includes over 50 women-led local community organizations.

Mission and Objectives

ETHR's mission is to promote a just and equal society by raising awareness of human rights, training human rights defenders, building strategic partnerships, fostering cultural exchange and dialogue, supporting effective political participation, and empowering economic, entrepreneurial, tourism, Cultural diversity and sustainable development and climate justice with a focus on vulnerable groups.

The strategic goal of ETHR is to build effective strategic partnerships by 2028 and implement pioneering projects that contribute to increasing community awareness and achieving sustainable development.

Its specific objectives include:

  • Promoting awareness of human rights and equality: expanding the understanding and application of human rights and gender equality concepts in local communities.
  • Protecting marginalized groups: combating violence against the most marginalized groups and providing a safe and supportive environment for them.
  • Empowering political participation: increasing the participation of youth and women in political decision-making, and political and electoral empowerment.
  • Building and strengthening strategic partnerships with local, national, and regional institutions to enhance the organization's impact in this field.
  • Integrating a gender perspective: supporting the integration of a gender perspective and a human rights approach in all policies and programs of the organization and its partners.
  • Sustainable development and innovation: fostering partnerships and programs aimed at developing cultural, educational, and health tourism, and developing innovative programs that meet community needs. This also includes promoting an entrepreneurial environment in the community and enhancing community participation in combating climate change.
  • Cultural exchange and heritage preservation: promoting cultural exchange and dialogue among different communities through organizing cultural and artistic events and exchange programs. This also includes preserving the cultural and musical heritage of the local community and supporting creators and artists.

Main Projects / Activities

ETHR engages in a wide range of activities and has completed numerous projects. Key areas of focus include:

  • Capacity Building and Training: Regional training on digital security for women in politics (2025) , electoral campaign management and women's political participation (regional, 2025, 2024, 2023, 2022, 2021) , youth political leadership academy (2024) , women's capacity building in political participation and elections in the Arab region (2024) , and workshops on gender and sexual health for girls/adolescents (2024).
  • Political Empowerment and Participation: Establishing the "Feminist Solidarity Network for Change" (2025) , promoting inclusive and effective participation of women in politics (2024) , and awareness sessions on election and political parties law (2024).
  • Cultural Exchange and Heritage: Cultural exchange for young women between Jordan and Poland (2024) , and workshops on mosaics and traditional crafts like embroidery for local women and girls (2024).
  • Human Rights and Social Issues: A campaign for 16 Days of Activism against violence against girls and women (2024) , and a project on institutional protection (2025).
  • Economic Empowerment: Regional workshop on "Marketing in Emerging Projects" (2024).

ETHR can contribute significantly to a network in Jordan through its established presence and expertise:

  • Capacity Building and Training: With extensive experience in training, particularly in political empowerment, digital security, and gender issues.
  • Human Rights and Gender Equality Advocacy: By leveraging its work to promote human rights and gender equality, and combatting violence against marginalized groups.
  • Community Engagement and Outreach: Through its focus on various vulnerable groups including children, girls, women, youth, persons with disabilities, the elderly, refugees, migrants, minorities, and rural women.
  • Strategic Partnerships: By actively seeking to build strong strategic partnerships with local, national, and regional institutions.
  • Cultural and Sustainable Development Initiatives: By contributing to cultural exchange, heritage preservation, and sustainable development, including efforts against climate change and promoting entrepreneurship.
  • Inclusive Approach: Implementing an inclusive, intersectional, and human rights-based approach that ensures no one is left behind and adapts to diverse needs
