Our Beginnings for Performing Arts Association is a non-profit organization that believes art is not a luxury, but a means for social change and human development. We work to develop safe spaces for expression, dialogue, and creativity through theater, playback theater, interactive theater, and art workshops.
Mission and Objectives
Using theater and playback as tools for intercultural dialogue.
Building human connections between the Arab and Jewish communities.
Empowering youth and women to voice their opinions.
Creating safe spaces for personal storytelling and listening to others.
Using art as a means to build trust and social cohesion, not just to produce theatrical performances.
Main Projects / Activities
Blebak Theatre's open-air performances.
Interactive theatre labs based on Augusto Boal's methodology.
Training workshops for youth and actors.
Joint Arab-Jewish projects to promote dialogue.
Performances and workshops in schools, universities, and community centers.
Production of theatrical productions addressing social issues such as identity, belonging, violence, and equality.
How can you contribute to the Network in your country?
Our Beginnings Association will contribute to fostering intercultural dialogue in Acre through interactive theater, playback theater, and performing arts as tools for building trust, encouraging listening, and creating human encounters between the Arab and Jewish communities. We will also initiate local partnerships with cultural and educational institutions and civil society organizations, and participate in joint projects that promote social cohesion and expand the network's impact at the local level.
Why do you want to join the ALF Network?
We seek to join the Anna Lindh Network because it provides a platform for collaboration and the exchange of expertise with institutions that share our belief in intercultural dialogue and the role of art in social change. We aspire to expand our partnerships, develop our professional capabilities, and contribute to regional initiatives that enhance the impact of our work and open new avenues for learning and collaboration.
