General Information

Al-Hayat for Studies and Research is a Palestinian-based organization working at the intersection of environmental health, education, and sustainable development. The organization combines research, training, and educational activities to address healthcare waste challenges and environmental risks. It also contributes to academic teaching and capacity building for students and professionals. By linking education with practical field experience, the organization aims to develop applicable solutions and raise awareness within local communities.

Mission and Objectives

The organization aims to improve environmental and public health through education, research, and community engagement. It focuses on strengthening knowledge and skills related to healthcare waste management and sustainability among students, professionals, and institutions. It also seeks to empower women and youth through green initiatives and educational programmes. A key objective is to bridge the gap between academic learning and real-world application in the Palestinian context.

Main Projects / Activities

Key activities include delivering training programmes in medical waste management, infection control, and environmental health, as well as teaching and supervising students in academic institutions. The organization has conducted research studies and environmental assessments related to healthcare waste risks and safe disposal practices. It also developed a business plan for a medical waste treatment station based on circular economy principles. In addition, it leads awareness initiatives and educational activities targeting students and local communities.

How can you contribute to the Network in your country?

I can contribute to the network by bringing practical experience from environmental health, education, and community engagement in Palestine. I can support capacity-building activities, co-develop training programmes, and contribute to research-based initiatives related to healthcare waste and sustainability. I am also interested in creating partnerships between academic institutions and civil society actors to develop practical solutions. Additionally, I can contribute to knowledge exchange and regional collaboration within the network.

Why do you want to join the ALF Network?

I want to join the Anna Lindh Foundation Network because it creates a space for meaningful collaboration and knowledge exchange across the Euro-Mediterranean region. My work in environmental health, education, and community engagement aligns closely with the network’s values. I am interested in building partnerships, sharing field-based experience, and contributing to initiatives that address real challenges such as healthcare waste and sustainability. I also see this network as an opportunity to connect local work in Palestine with broader regional efforts.
