Main Projects / Activities

Over the past years, Akkarouna’s team was able to build a vast network of partnership with different local, governmental and international actors within the region, as well as the security sector. With over 60 successfully closed projects, we were able to serve the most underprivileged communities with their basic needs, capacity building, business development, and provision of health necessities and mental resilience, while reaching more than 1,500 cases managed, 100,000 community members reached through awareness, 60,000 residents with capacity built, more than 1,500 beneficiaries under VT, and ET tracks along with 300 MSMEs with increased economic inclusion.
Within its programs, Akkarouna was able to endorse more than 1,000 small initiative projects according to the needs. Moreover, all our projects ensure protection and gender mainstreaming through female access to all services, securing their protection and providing the community members with the needed protection awareness, support, case management and referrals.
For ultimate compliance with legal and ethical standards, all our processes were systemized through policies and procedures, while ensuring the Do No Harm, PSEA, and Accountability Towards Affected Population approaches are strictly applied within our programs following gender mainstreaming. These policies and procedures are paramount for effective governance, transparency, and the delivery of high-quality programs and services to beneficiaries.
Based on different needs identified during previous projects’ implementation, Akkarouna consists of capacitated and qualified members of its core team, in addition to external experts whom the organization recruits on a regular basis, based on proposed interventions.
Akkarouna’s staff is a diverse and dedicated team committed to the organization's mission of promoting social and environmental justice. Their expertise and passion drive the NGO's projects forward, as they work closely with local communities, government agencies, and other stakeholders to implement sustainable solutions to pressing challenges.
In addition, we have a large team of volunteers trained to conduct surveys and assist in different events when needed, as well as external consultants in various fields, whose expertise Akkarouna relies on in the implementation of its projects.
