General Information

Arnika is a Czech non-profit organization that is focused on uniting people to create a cleaner and healthier environment.

Mission and Objectives

Since 2001, our mission is to protect nature and foster a healthy environment for future generations to enjoy. Our activities rely on three main components, public involvement in the decision-making process, expert opinions and justified requests, and media coverage of the problems. In the long-term, we are striving to reduce waste, limit the use of hazardous substances, preserve healthy rivers and forests, along with allowing citizens to have more involvement in the protection of the environment.
The work at Arnika brings concrete results that benefit us all and we are continuously striving to keep it that way. However, this success would not be possible without the hard work of volunteers and sponsors.

Main Projects / Activities

In the Czech Republic, we run long-term campaigns focused on toxic pollution, waste and consumer protection, protection of river ecosystems, trees and rare parts of nature, sustainable urban planning and public participation in environmental decision-making. We work on the same topics in partner projects in the countries of the former Yugoslavia, the former Soviet Union and some Asian countries.
