Asociación Cultural y Deportiva La Hoya (ACD LA HOYA) is a non-governmental, non-profit organization based in La Hoya – Elche, Spain. Since 2002, it has been actively involved in European and international projects focused on community development, youth work, and non-formal education. The organization is composed of a team of 8 professionals and approximately 25 volunteers, including both young people and adults, who collaborate in the implementation of activities throughout the year. ACD LA HOYA primarily works in rural environments, promoting the active participation of children, youth, and adults—especially those with fewer opportunities—thus contributing to the social and cultural strengthening of the community.
Mission and Objectives
The mission of ACD LA HOYA is to create an inclusive environment where the community can develop personal, social, and professional skills through sport, art, culture, and European cooperation. The organization is based on principles of cooperation, solidarity, integration, environmental protection, and universal human values. Its main objectives include fostering the social inclusion of young people and adults from rural areas, promoting employability and entrepreneurship, strengthening social and personal skills through non-formal education, and preserving local cultural traditions by passing them on to younger generations. Furthermore, it aims to promote active citizenship and intercultural understanding through participation in European projects.
Main Projects / Activities
ACD LA HOYA carries out its activities through four main areas: sport, art, youth, and European programs. In the field of sport, the organization manages several grassroots football teams involving more than 120 children, in addition to offering activities such as volleyball, padel, yoga, pilates, martial arts, trekking, and e-sports, using sport as a tool for social inclusion and community cohesion. In the artistic and cultural area, it has a theater group active since 1991, training workshops in photography and digital editing, and craft clubs for adults focused on developing entrepreneurial skills while preserving local traditions.
The Youth Center provides a safe and dynamic space where young people can develop personal and professional competencies through workshops, educational campaigns, youth exchanges, and innovative activities. A highlight is the “Innovation Room,” equipped with a 3D printer, drone courses, and a podcast studio, fostering technological and digital skills. In the European field, ACD LA HOYA has implemented more than 60 international projects, sending around 1,300 participants to training experiences across Europe and hosting international volunteers, consolidating strong expertise in Erasmus+ project management.

ACD LA HOYA can significantly contribute to the Network in Spain by sharing its extensive experience in European project management, youth mobility, and social inclusion in rural areas. The organization can act as a bridge between rural communities and international networks, facilitating cooperation opportunities and mutual learning. It can also contribute best practices in using sport and technological innovation as tools for social integration and skills development. Thanks to its infrastructure, experience, and volunteer network, ACD LA HOYA is well positioned to organize joint activities, exchanges, seminars, and events that strengthen intercultural dialogue and active citizenship.
Why do you want to join the ALF Network?
ACD LA HOYA wishes to join the Anna Lindh Foundation (ALF) Network in order to strengthen intercultural dialogue in the Euro-Mediterranean region and expand its strategic partnerships with organizations that share values of inclusion, diversity, and cooperation. Becoming part of the Network will allow the organization to exchange experiences, develop joint projects, and provide new opportunities for young people and adults from rural environments. ACD LA HOYA believes that its experience in non-formal education, youth entrepreneurship, and digital innovation can add value to the Network, while participation in ALF will enrich its local work through new perspectives, methodologies, and international collaborations.
