Asociacion Juvenil Youth Vision Alava, based in Vitoria-Gasteiz, was established in July 2024 by an experienced team within the Erasmus programme. YVA is committed to empowering the next generation of leaders with the skills and knowledge to thrive in an interconnected world.
YVA is a dynamic youth organization dedicated to fostering environmental stewardship, promoting social inclusion, enhancing sportsmanship, and celebrating cultural diversity through impactful initiatives.
With our approach at YVA, we believe in harnessing the collective energy and creativity of youth to address pertinent and concerning challenges at local/regional/national/European/global level. challenges. Through innovative environmental projects, inclusive community events, competitive sports programs, and enriching intercultural exchanges, we seek to empower young people to become catalysts for positive change.
Three main pillars of our organization are:
- Sport and healthy lifestyle
- Environmental sustainability and responsibility
- Inclusion and intercultural dialogue
Mission and Objectives
Our experienced team leverages its expertise in international cooperation and youth development to create opportunities for learning, growth, and meaningful engagement across borders.
Our Mission and Vision
Our mission is to cultivate a generation of resilient leaders who cheer environmental sustainability, foster inclusivity, celebrate cultural diversity, sport and healthy lifestyle.
Our vision is to create a community where every young person feels empowered to make a positive impact in their surroundings and beyond.
Main Projects / Activities
Although we are a newly established organization, due to our team’s extensive experience we bring a lot to the table.
Currently we organize activities and workshops at the local level with the goal to extend them beyond country borders.
The set of activities that we currently carry on and the ones we aim to implement seek to promote engagement and skill development among youth but also contribute to building inclusive, healthy, culturally aware, and environmentally conscious communities.
-Diversity workshops: Organizing workshops to promote understanding and acceptance of diversity among youth, irrespective of their backgrounds, beliefs, origin etc.
-Inclusive sports events: Hosting sports events (volleyball) that ensure the participation of youth of all abilities, promoting inclusivity.
-Muay Thai inclusive events: our inclusive approach ensures that everyone, regardless of background or ability, can participate and thrive in the spirit of sportsmanship and mutual respect.
- Football and other sports youth tournaments: organising inclusive football/or other sports events to promote healthy lifestyle as well as inclusion of young people from marginalised backgrounds, with fewer opportunities.
-Cultural exchange programs: Facilitating exchange programs where youth from different cultures interact and learn from each other.
-Language clubs: Establishing clubs or workshops where youth can learn and practice languages from different cultures.
-Intercultural workshops: Holding workshops to explore and celebrate cultural diversity and promote cross-cultural understanding.
-Environmental education workshops: Vitoria-Gasteiz, declared ‘European Green Capital’ back in 2012, is an example of people who care about their environment and its wellbeing. Although, much more should be done to keep these practices alive and active from generation to another, therefore conducting workshops on topics like recycling, sustainable living, and biodiversity conservation is one of the main activities.
-Community clean-up events: Organizing clean-up drives and environmental restoration activities in areas with higher need.
How can you contribute to the Network in your country?
Our organization can contribute by creating opportunities for intercultural dialogue through activities that bring together young people from diverse backgrounds. We have experience in organizing youth exchanges and workshops on important issues like climate change, sports, and culture, which can foster collaboration and understanding between communities. Additionally, we can share best practices and support other organizations in the network by promoting environmental awareness, inclusivity, and active participation.
Why do you want to join the ALF Network?
We want to join the ALF Network because it aligns with our mission to promote intercultural dialogue, particularly among young people, through education and community engagement. Being part of this network will allow us to collaborate with like-minded organizations, share resources, and expand the impact of our initiatives on both a national and Euro-Mediterranean scale. Joining the network will also help us strengthen partnerships and learn from the experiences of others in promoting cultural diversity and mutual understanding.
