Together for Youth Generation is a youth organisation based in Romania that works directly with young people, youth workers and community groups in both rural and urban areas. The organisation focuses on participation, non formal learning and community involvement. TFYG designs and delivers educational programmes, capacity building activities and Erasmus+ projects that support youth engagement in decision making processes and intercultural cooperation.
The organisation develops long term activities in the village of Alexeni, where young people have limited opportunities. TFYG offers creative workshops, environmental actions and participation-based initiatives that help young people express their opinions and take an active role in their community. The organisation works with schools, local authorities and European partners to create practical learning spaces where youth can build skills, confidence and a sense of belonging.
TFYG also implements international mobility projects that address topics such as sustainability, inclusion, youth participation, mental health and digital communication. The team has experience in facilitating mixed groups, supporting volunteers, coordinating international partnerships and guiding organisations in developing community-based actions. TFYG combines practical tools, clear communication and non formal methodologies to help young people and youth workers strengthen participation and intercultural dialogue in their own contexts.
Mission and Objectives
Mission: Together for Youth Generation supports young people to take an active role in their communities. The organisation creates learning spaces where youth feel safe, included and encouraged to participate. TFYG aims to strengthen youth engagement, build community responsibility and promote intercultural dialogue through simple, practical and accessible methods. The mission is to help young people develop skills, confidence and motivation to influence the life of their community in a positive way. Objectives
To increase youth participation by offering tools and opportunities that encourage young people to express their views and take part in community decisions.
To support inclusive learning environments where young people from different backgrounds can collaborate, learn and engage in dialogue.
To strengthen community involvement through local programmes that connect youth with schools, families, local authorities and civil society.
To develop practical skills in communication, teamwork, leadership and civic engagement using non formal education.
To promote intercultural understanding through international projects, mobility activities and exchanges that expose young people to diverse perspectives.
To build the capacity of youth workers and volunteers by providing training, mentorship and space for professional growth.
To create sustainable partnerships at local and European level that support long term youth development and community impact.
Main Projects / Activities
1. Local Youth Participation Programmes in Alexeni
TFYG runs year-round activities for children and young people in Alexeni, a rural community with limited opportunities. The programme includes creative workshops, public speaking sessions, environmental activities and community events that help young people gain confidence and take part in local life.
2. Erasmus+ Youth Exchanges and Training Courses
The organisation coordinates and participates in European mobility projects focused on sustainability, inclusion, digital communication, youth participation and mental health. TFYG works with international partners to create practical learning experiences for young people and youth workers.
3. Community Engagement and Social Inclusion Projects
TFYG implements community actions that bring together youth, educators, families and local institutions. Activities include awareness campaigns, educational support for vulnerable young people and local initiatives that promote participation and cooperation.
4. Capacity Building for Youth Workers and Volunteers
The organisation provides training, mentoring and peer learning opportunities for youth workers, trainers and volunteers. Sessions focus on non formal education, facilitation, community involvement and digital tools for youth work.
5. Environmental Education Activities
TFYG organises clean up actions, sustainability workshops and environmental awareness events that help young people understand their role in protecting their local environment.
6. Creative and Cultural Events
The organisation hosts events that promote creativity, cultural expression and community connection. These include exhibitions, thematic workshops and activities that support intercultural dialogue.
7. Digital Education and Communication Projects
TFYG develops skills related to digital tools, online communication, media literacy and responsible technology use. The organisation works with young people to understand algorithms, filter bubbles and cognitive biases in digital environments.
How can you contribute to the Network in your country?
I can contribute to the ALF Network in Romania by supporting activities that strengthen youth participation, intercultural dialogue and community engagement. My organisation works directly with young people, youth workers and local communities, so we can offer practical experience and tools that respond to the needs of the Network.
We can support the Network by organising workshops, peer learning activities and capacity building sessions for members who want to improve their work with young people in diverse communities. We can also share methods for non formal learning, community involvement and participatory dialogue that are easy to use in different local contexts.
We collaborate with rural and urban communities where access to opportunities is limited, so we can bring perspectives and examples from groups that are often underrepresented. Our experience in Erasmus+ projects and in developing inclusive activities helps us contribute to the Network’s goals of cooperation, diversity and dialogue.
We can also support the Network through visibility and outreach. We can promote ALF activities to youth organisations, teachers, community leaders and volunteers in our region and create stronger links between local actors and the wider Euro Med space. By sharing our experience and involving more young people and civil society actors, we can help the Network grow and have a stronger impact in Romania.
Why do you want to join the ALF Network?
I want to join the ALF Network because it brings together organisations that believe in dialogue, cooperation and inclusion. These are values that guide my work every day. The Network offers a space where we can learn from each other, share practical tools and build collaborations that help communities grow stronger.
My organisation works with young people and community groups in environments where participation is still limited. Being part of the ALF Network would help us connect these local realities with the wider Euro Med community. We want to give young people access to new perspectives and support organisations that work with similar challenges.
Joining the Network would allow us to contribute with our experience in youth participation, intercultural activities and community involvement. At the same time, we can learn from other members who face similar issues in different contexts. This exchange is important for improving our work and creating actions with real impact.
We are interested in building partnerships, developing joint initiatives and strengthening the presence of ALF values in Romania. Being part of this Network is an opportunity to support dialogue between cultures and to promote practical cooperation that benefits young people and civil society organisations.
