AI is a newly established non-profit organisation, founded in August 2026 in Lisbon, Portugal. We operate at the intersection of generations and cultures. We work through individual projects: members propose their own initiatives, which, once approved by the General Assembly, are centrally coordinated. Our approach includes intercultural exchange, intergenerational dialogue, media literacy, and local-global cooperation.
Mission and Objectives
To give young people worldwide the power to create change themselves, across cultures and across generations.
We work as equal partners, all generations and cultures together, combining experience and ambition to build fairer, more inclusive, and more resilient communities, locally and internationally. We do this through innovation, media literacy, and intercultural dialogue, connecting people across borders and generations as a driver of social impact.
Main Projects / Activities
In line with our organization's values, members bring forward their own project proposals, often in response to concrete societal challenges.
Following broad approval by the General Assembly, these are centrally coordinated and supported.
First initiatives include: intercultural dialogue programs, media literacy workshops for young people, and intergenerational exchanges addressing local societal challenges. Future projects grow organically from our members, with a focus on sustainable local development and transnational cooperation across Europe and the Mediterranean region.
How can you contribute to the Network in your country?
We want to offer a strong network: young people and experienced professionals from diverse sectors, such as social work, creative , hospitality, and film/media. Our headquarters are in Lisbon, but our members come from different countries and cultures. We bring international grounding, youthful and fresh energy, and a working model in which generations shape projects together as equal partners.
Why do you want to join the ALF Network?
As a young organization, we see the ALF Network as a place to learn from experienced partners and share our intergenerational approach. Joining strengthens our work, connects our local projects to a wider Euro-Mediterranean network, and helps us break the isolation that keeps similar initiatives from finding each other turning small-scale projects into real societal change.
