radiomiudos.pt is the first portuguese speaking radio station for kids and done by kids, on a traditional media - radio broadcasting - in a global platform where kids can be safe from harm of social media and still exchange ideas and share their experiences all over the world
Mission and Objectives
Our mission is to amplify kids voices in order to make them heard and be able to participate as active citizens at an early age. It's a radio station where they decide what to say, what matters and what is important. They chose what to say to their peers.
Main Projects / Activities
Broadcasting 24/7 since 2015, radiomiudos.pt is a non-traditional school to learn digital literacy, fact-checking working soft and open skills, practice citizenship through journalism and radio broadcasting. With our own methodology, we have already trained in our two studios, located in two citites in the west region of Portugal, more than 150 kids as Djs, announcers and anchors, radio journalists and sound designers. We also introduced our methodology to implement and activate school-radios as means for improving communication and journalism skills, in order to develop participation and citizenship

We can learn with your international experience and networking in order to try and replicate our methodology in other languages and countries,.
Why do you want to join the ALF Network?
Because networking and international solidarity are of utter value to us, and as we are very few in our organization - just knew about Anna Lindh Foundation recently - we treasure all the experiences in improving the contact and knowledge about other cultures and languages.
