General Information

The Association for International Youth Co-operation "INTERAKTIV" from Bitola
is a non-profit, civic youth organization that aims to provide opportunities for local youth but also cooperation with youth on an international level. The association was founded in July 2017 in Bitola, Republic of North Macedonia. The goal of the association is to develop activities and opportunities for young people in the
field of non-formal education, promote healthy living habits, culture and art, as well as civil society that encourage positive values among young people. The organization's activity focuses on many aspects that are of interest to young people: from providing services and information to research and support for policy-making and networking. INTERAKTIV is dedicated on creating different responsible and cooperative
communities where citizens actively contribute to social development and integration.

Mission and Objectives

Our mission is to ensure sustainable community development by creating opportunities for quality engagement of civil society, promoting learning opportunities and actively involving young people and other citizens.

OUR GOALS ARE:
- Contribution to the implementation of the United Nations sustainable development
goals at local, national and international level by encouraging youth participation at the national, regional and international levels;
- Participation of young people in the processes of European integration and creating a common European vision;
- Participation of young people in activities to promote a culture of tolerance and non-
violence, peace and international understanding;
- Activities for promotion of the principles of inter-generational justice through
participation in the creation and implementation of public policies, at national, regional and international level;
- Networking activities and participation in international youth networks and coalitions
that work in the field of youth empowerment;
- Contribution to poverty reduction and creation of opportunities for youth participation in activities at the national, regional and international level;
- Promotion of different cultures and youth subculture through organizing various
events: conferences, seminars, youth culture festivals and all other classic alternative forms and directions in art;
- Protecting the cultural identity of young members of vulnerable categories, small
ethnic communities and national minorities;
- Other activities related to the development, perspectives and well-being of young people.

Non-formal education is especially important for the development of young
people, and young people are the ones who represent the best scanner to discover the real problems that exist in society. With some guidance they can discover the root of the problem and build their own way to find a lasting solution to get rid of the problem.

INTERAKTIV as an organization is motivated to work with young people. The
INTERAKTIV team consists of experienced youth workers and young volunteers who
are great enthusiasts, creative, motivated, active, initiative young people. Our youth team provides opportunities to engage, promote non-formal education, multiculturalism, need for self-inclusion and active citizenship, as well as strengthen the capacities of youth in the local environment.

Main Projects / Activities

The Association for International Youth Cooperation INTERAKTIV - Bitola during the past years has several debates and discussions on topics that affect the public and in several target groups. Some of them are: public debate on Youth problems in the local community held at the Faculty of Law in Bitola, public debate on the topic: Fight against misinformation organized in the library in Bitola, public discussion in the Municipality of Mogila on the topic: Perspectives of rural youth environment for Europe. We also held a panel discussion and a round table on the topic: Youth and European values.

How can you contribute to the Network in your country?

We are interested in contributing to the work of the Anna Lindh Foundation in our country through the activities of the Association for Youth Cooperation INTERAKTIV – Bitola. As an association working on youth empowerment, intercultural dialogue and community development, we see many opportunities to stay and make a significant impact. We would like to participate in organizing and participating in discussions that bring together representatives of civil society, political and general communities to address urgent issues. We would also like to cooperate, programming related to non-formal education, cultural exchange and youth participation in public life. The aim is to help create inclusive spaces for dialogue and to contribute to educational initiatives such as workshops and public debates and to promote a culture of tolerance and active citizenship among young people. We believe that by collaborating with the INTERAKTIV association, we can help strengthen the voices of young people and support the Anna Lindh Foundation's mission to influence mutual understanding and cooperation among society.

Why do you want to join the ALF Network?

As the Association for International Youth Cooperation INTERAKTIV – Bitola, we are deeply committed to fostering dialogue, cooperation, and mutual understanding among youth and communities at the local, national, and international level. Our motivation to join the Ana Lindh Foundation Network stems from our shared values and vision of building inclusive societies through intercultural exchange, active citizenship, and non-formal education. Being part of the ALF Network would allow us to strengthen our existing efforts by collaborating with like-minded organizations across the Euro-Mediterranean region, exchanging knowledge and best practices, and engaging in joint projects that empower young people and promote peace, tolerance, and diversity. We see the Network as a valuable platform to amplify youth voices, advocate for positive social change, and contribute meaningfully to the development of resilient and democratic communities.
