Projects implemented by Poraka Nova
- Poraka Nova is a key member of the national network for street paper Lice v lice, which acts as a social
enterprise where people from marginalized groups are employed or engaged as vendors of the street
magazine. Poraka Nova has the first and only employed magazine vendor in Macedonia, through a
developed business plan for his engagement as vendor.
- In 2021, PORAKA NOVA started developing an initiative called Self-Advocate Influencers, which is
implemented in the frames of the NEUEYT project. Through this initiative, young people from
marginalized communities will learn how to represent themselves and the whole community they belong
to. Self-advocate influencer is an activity that aims at making youngsters from under-represented
communities work in pairs with other youngsters. They will work on modules focused on gaining
knowledge on working with social media and expressing themselves through different digital tools. The
main goal is to be heard and provoke a reaction from the relevant policy makers. To develop digital skills
for youngsters from underrepresented communities. To allow youngsters who are not under-represented
get more community aware by directly supporting and mentoring the youngsters from the
underrepresented communities.
- Poraka Nova is a pioneer in Macedonia, and in the Balkan Region in promoting topics such as accessible
tourism, inclusive tourism, senior tourism, social tourism, and responsible tourism. We are the first and
only organization from the Balkan Region which is a member of ENAT - the European Network for
Accessible Tourism, and of ISTO - The International Social Tourism Organisation. We are spreading the
list of collaborators in the field on national, regional, European and intercontinental level, by
implementing projects relevant to this program, and continuously organize and attend seminars, courses
and fairs on the topic.
- Regarding accessible tourism we have implemented The CALL4ACTION project that addresses the lack of
good accessibilities of public spaces (parks, sidewalks, schools, marketplaces), accenting that is one of
the main reasons for the social exclusion of persons with disabilities. The partners play a pivotal role in
disseminating accessibility-related projects, wishing to move forward in transnational cooperation to
support accessibility actions, and sharing knowledge on the best practices to overcome this social
challenge. In the frame of the project one of the activities was to develop and implement 4 online crash
courses, empowering people that are working with people with disabilities or are responsible for
monitoring the fieldwork on accessibility in order to create accessible environment.
- Poraka Nova in collaboration with organizations from Italy, Spain and Croatia, developed the Social Innovation Network - SINet, which is a platform for digital social innovation, where the nonprofits can
learn how to use social innovations, marketing and digitalization in order to become self-sustainable.
- We are leading the mPreneuer Social Mobile Entrepreneurship Project. mPreneur stimulates capacity
building of young aspiring entrepreneurs and youth CSOs for usage of apps coding and ICT as vital skills
for youth employability as well as for strengthening community resilience. Youth develop sustainable
innovative business mobile solutions to the persisting community challenges. Social mobile
entrepreneurship is recognized as a special concept uniting the purpose-driven component of the
businesses and the mobile technology used. mPreneur does not only stimulates skills sharing among
youngsters, but strengthens the quality of youth work by building CSOs capacities for digital learning and
usage of ICT for youth empowerment and employability, while gamifying the process through mobile app
business competitions. mPreneur follows the major achievements of the first and the second editions of
our mYouth CBY project. Exactly this potential to help youth choose their career path in
entrepreneurship, while embracing new technologies and being socially aware, and on a different note,
to benefit from mobile learning therewith becoming engaged and resilient and ready to embrace change,
inspired us to deepen its content and provide solid foundation for sustainability of the project results after
the project end.
- Poraka Nova is a member of ERYICA - European Youth Information and Counselling Agency, through
which we promote the importance of youth having equal access to quality and free information as a
prerequisite for them to make use of their rights, to make responsible decisions and to participate in
society in its social, economic and political dimensions. This is why the right to information is widely
recognized in major legal and political documents at national, European and International level, and this
is the role that Youth Information plays across Europe. Together we have implemented YInfoPeers and
YInfoPioneers projects, aiming to enhance youth participation and to raise awareness about the
importance of young people’s right to information and seting the basis to develop and expand YIC
services in the Western Balkans
- Poraka Nova leads the youth information portal mladiinfo.eu - web platform for providing free opportunities
for young people all over the world. Mladiinfo.eu provides free career and educational opportunities for
youth and offering them help, advice, and support through the process of personal and professional
development. It has direct impact on the lives of youth, engaging, connecting and empowering them to
fullfill their educational potential.
How can you contribute to the Network in your country?
As a leading organization in the field of social innovation, incluzion, and digitalization for social change, Poraka Nova is uniquely positioned to make a strong and strategic contribution to the Anna Lindh Foundation Network in Macedonia.
Our core mission is centered around bridging social gaps by innovating inclusive solutions, empowering marginalized voices, and digitally enabling communities to thrive. Over the years, we have developed impactful models that blend technology, creativity, and grassroots empowerment to drive systemic change — particularly in the areas of youth engagement, inclusion of persons with disabilities, accessible public spaces, and empowering people in need.
Poraka Nova sees its role in the ALF Network as both a catalyst and connector — bringing the power of social innovation into intercultural dialogue, and helping organizations and communities across the Mediterranean leverage digital tools to foster understanding, equity, and collaboration.
Through projects like SINet (Social Innovation Network), Social Impact NFTs, European Citizenship Academy, and mPreneur, we’ve proven how digitalization — from mobile apps to digital storytelling and blockchain technologies — can be harnessed not only for economic empowerment but for inclusion, activism, and civic participation. We aim to share these approaches across the ALF Network, helping partner organizations digitize their impact, amplify their stories, and reach more diverse audiences.
Why do you want to join the ALF Network?
Joining the ALF Network means becoming part of a broader movement that shares our values of mutual understanding, respect, diversity, and peacebuilding. It means amplifying the voices of those we work with — marginalized youth, persons with disabilities, underserved communities — and ensuring they are heard in regional conversations that shape policy and culture.
