Mission and Objectives

Comunità Progetto Sud is a network of groups that collaborate to develop and promote inclusive policies in opposition to social inequities and the Mafia-like method of prevarication. During the last 47 years of activities, Comunità Progetto Sud responded to a series of social issues, such as drug addiction, women empowerment, Aids, Mental Illness, migrants and trafficking of human beings, and segregation of ethnic minorities.

Main Projects / Activities

Comunità Progetto Sud is deeply engaged in including migrants, asylum seekers, and refugees in society and fighting against the trafficking of human beings.
First, the Association manages three SAI (Reception and Integration System), where minors unaccompanied, women, and families are hosted.
At the same time, CPS supports Third Country Nationals through its Legal Centre, which gives legal assistance to migrants living in the Region to deal with procedures in obtaining asylum. During the last three years, CPS legally supported more than 2.606 Third Country Nationals.
Alongside, the organization works to prevent and contrast the trafficking of human beings. From 2020 to 2022, CPS got in contact with 1.447 victims or potential victims of potential victims of trafficking in human being, both sexual and labor exploitation; it took in charge 78 victims and hosted 56 people.
Moreover, CPS provides training, orientation, and job placement activities to migrants to give them all the competencies to find a job and be independent. In all its projects, CPS aims to implement innovative methods to contribute to and guarantee the social and economic inclusion and active participation of migrants in the local community.
CPS works in partnership with other local, national and international private and public organizations.

How can you contribute to the Network in your country?

CPS will contribute to the Italian network by sharing viewpoints, expertise, knowledge, opening itself to dialogue with other network members.

Why do you want to join the ALF Network?

Joining the ALF Network is an important opportunity to open up our actions even more toward the Mediterranean. CPS works in Calabria, in a region that has close ties to the Mediterranean and also works with many people (beneficiaries and employees) who come from countries on the other shores of this sea. For some time, CPS has been willing to get to know, visit, and collaborate with neighboring entities in order to build common visions and jointly address the global challenges that contradistinguish this era. ALF seems an excellent opportunity to take the first steps toward this cooperation.
