Mission and Objectives

Besa-Besë a.s.b.l. is a non-profit association dedicated to promoting the inclusion of minority communities, particularly those of Balkan origin. Its mission is to empower young people—both girls and boys—through personal development and community engagement initiatives. Focused on education, diversity awareness, and equal opportunities, Besa-Besë a.s.b.l. fosters intercultural exchange and social cohesion through workshops and collaborative projects. The association highlights Balkan culture and promotes integration through meaningful dialogue. Its key goals include: strengthening intercultural dialogue between Luxembourg and the Balkan community, supporting marginalized women and children facing social and economic challenges, encouraging local entrepreneurship—especially businesses employing vulnerable individuals such as war survivors or people with disabilities—and advocating for gender equality and equal access to opportunities. Besa-Besë a.s.b.l. also works to improve the quality of life for vulnerable families, including single-parent households and orphans. Through its initiatives, the association aims to build a more inclusive and equitable society.

Main Projects / Activities

Besa-Besë a.s.b.l. has built strong expertise in the cultural and social fields, as reflected in a series of impactful events aimed at promoting cultural exchange, community engagement, and social inclusion.

Since 2019, we have organized several fundraising initiatives, including Equal Start, Equal Opportunity, which supports access to education for young children in Kosovo, helping to reduce inequalities from an early age.

Our intercultural events include a memorable concert held in January 2020 at St. George’s International School in Luxembourg, featuring artists from Albania, Kosovo, Germany, and Luxembourg. The event raised funds for victims of the 2019 earthquake in Albania and served as a vibrant example of international solidarity.

In February 2024, we hosted a sold-out screening of the film Sophia by director Eduart Grishaj, followed by a meaningful discussion with the filmmaker and one of the lead actors. This event fostered dialogue on identity, resilience, and representation.

In July 2024, we welcomed renowned historian and archaeologist Prof. Neritan Ceka for a book presentation attended by a diverse audience of Albanian, Luxembourgish, and Italian participants. The event sparked valuable intellectual exchange and highlighted the richness of Balkan history and heritage.

At the heart of Besa-Besë a.s.b.l. is a team united by a common vision: to promote social inclusion, education, and intercultural dialogue. We believe that culture—in all its forms—is a powerful driver of personal growth and social transformation. Our commitment lies in making culture accessible to all and in supporting the integration of communities through educational and community-focused initiatives.
