The Contemporary Music Platform is an organization that organizes music festivals, contemporary music concerts, and live performances on a national and international scale, and also undertakes the operational organization of various cultural and artistic events in the sector. Within the scope of its education and development activities, it organizes and conducts educational workshops, masterclasses, seminars, panels, and training programs for young artists and the sector. The platform creates a digital archive by recording the audio and video of original compositions and live performances, particularly those played at premiere concerts, preserving these recordings and making them accessible through its official website and digital addresses within the framework of copyright and broadcasting rights. It also actively uses social media platforms such as Instagram and YouTube to disseminate its own high-quality digital content and maintain sectoral knowledge sharing. To ensure the sustainability of all these cultural activities, it develops corporate brand collaborations and sponsorship partnerships, while also managing the physical and online ticket sales processes for the concerts, festivals, and training programs it organizes.
Mission and Objectives
Background and ExperienceThe Contemporary Music Platform is an independent arts and culture initiative in Turkey that integrates the production, performance, thought, research, education, and audience engagement processes of contemporary music. Moving beyond merely organizing concerts, it operates as an interdisciplinary cultural ecosystem connecting everyone from composers and performers to academicians and listeners. Designed upon rights-based, inclusive, and accessible principles, the platform blends artistic production with social responsibility to make "the unheard heard and the unseen seen". In line with this vision, the platform executes innovative events that bridge music with other disciplines. For instance, it merges accessibility and contemporary art through "Hearing the Unseen" events on World Braille Day, and strengthens the intellectual foundation of contemporary music via panel, seminar, and concert series such as "From Literature to Music" and "Projection: Styles in Music". Furthermore, it expands cultural exchange by establishing sustainable partnerships with universities, local municipalities (e.g., Kadıköy Municipality), and non-governmental organizations (e.g., Six Dots Foundation for the Blind). Target GroupsThe platform's target audience encompasses a highly inclusive structure, consisting of professionals steering artistic production, emerging talents, and diverse segments of society.Culture and Arts Professionals: Composers, performers, conductors, musicologists, academicians, cultural managers, and arts institutions form the core ecosystem of the platform. Young Artists and Students: Undergraduate and graduate musicology students, young conductors, and researchers are directly supported and integrated into the professional stage and artistic production through the established "Youth Art Sub-Committee" and "Mentorship Program". Disadvantaged Groups: Viewing participation in cultural life as a fundamental right, the platform aims to empower marginalized individuals and communities with limited representation (e.g., visually impaired individuals) to become active, visible participants in cultural life.

The Contemporary Music Platform is a cultural ecosystem that merges artistic production with accessibility and interdisciplinary approaches. Our activities are executed with a strong discipline in concept development, artistic programming, communication, and end-to-end operational management.
Completed and Ongoing Projects:
The Journey of Sound (Sesin Yolculuğu): Boasting a deep-rooted history of 22 years, this prestigious project presents the various forms of sound to the audience from an interdisciplinary perspective. Our platform successfully undertook the complete operational organization of its latest edition, proving our institution's capacity to manage large-scale artistic events end-to-end.
Hearing the Unseen (Accessibility and Awareness Project): A highly successful awareness project realized on World Braille Day (January 4, 2026), bringing together music and contemporary art on an inclusive platform. By integrating inclusive design principles, the event introduced an accessible concert model supported by Braille materials and multilingual content.
Canis Majoris Composition Concert Series: A comprehensive concert series that has been ongoing for over four years in collaboration with university partners, providing a professional stage for young composers and performers. Supported by a large volunteer student network, the platform's team manages the entire process, from communication strategies to stage management.

To expand the contemporary music network and foster interdisciplinary productions, our platform has scheduled the following projects for the upcoming season:
The Journey of Sound (New Season): We plan to continue undertaking the organization of this 22-year-old cultural legacy in its upcoming editions, expanding the project further with innovative stage designs and international networks.
Cultural Timbres & From Literature to Music: Interdisciplinary concert and panel series that will explore the transformation of ancient Asian instruments within the contemporary music language, and unite the imagery of literature with contemporary compositions.
Contemporary Composer & Projection: Seminar and concert gatherings designed to deeply examine the stylistic diversity of today's music, the production processes of living composers, and musical movements such as spectralism.
How can you contribute to the Network in your country?
As the Contemporary Music Platform, we aim to contribute to the Anna Lindh Foundation Turkish Network in the following key areas: Cultural Ecosystem and Network Expansion: We can integrate our strong ties with universities, local municipalities, and NGOs (e.g., Yıldız Technical University, Six Dots Foundation for the Blind) into the ALF network, facilitating new cultural bridges and joint projects among institutions. Operational and Organizational Expertise: We can mobilize our end-to-end operational experience—gained from managing deep-rooted projects like the 22-year-old "The Journey of Sound"—for joint national and international festivals, workshops, and cultural events organized with other network members.Knowledge Sharing on Accessibility and Inclusion: We can share our inclusive design practices, use of Braille materials, and multilingual content development models (as successfully implemented in our "Hearing the Unseen" project) with other network members to enhance the accessibility and inclusivity of joint ALF initiatives. Youth Empowerment: By aligning our "Mentorship Program" and "Youth Art Sub-Committee" models with ALF's youth objectives, we can create a sustainable engagement platform connecting young artistic talents in Turkey with those across the Mediterranean and European regions. Digital Archiving and Visibility: We can offer our platform's innovative digital content and archiving strategies for the network's shared use, ensuring that joint projects produced by the Turkish Network achieve high-quality and lasting visibility on social media and digital platforms.
Why do you want to join the ALF Network?
As the Contemporary Music Platform, we believe that contemporary music and art are not merely realms of aesthetic production, but universal tools that unite societies, break down prejudices, and build intercultural dialogue. Our primary reasons for wanting to join the Anna Lindh Foundation network are:Integrating with the Euro-Mediterranean Vision: To bridge contemporary music production and our cultural heritage in Turkey with other cultures across the Euro-Mediterranean region, contributing to multicultural dialogue through cross-border artistic projects.International Co-Production and Synergy: To exchange knowledge with other NGOs, arts institutions, and activists within the network; leveraging our national operational strength to co-design international festivals, masterclasses, and interdisciplinary events.Internationalization of Young Artists: To integrate the young composers, performers, and researchers we support through our "Mentorship Program" and "Youth Art Sub-Committee" into international networks; providing them with a multicultural vision and supporting their career development on a Euro-Mediterranean scale. Advancing and Sharing Inclusive Art Practices: To bring our rights-based, accessible, and inclusive art models—developed through projects like "Hearing the Unseen"—to the international arena. Simultaneously, we aim to learn from the best practices of other NGOs in the network to enhance our institutional capacity and social impact.
