General Information

The Mediterranean Center for Peace and Security (CMPS) is a newly established non-profit organization registered under French law (association loi 1901) and based in Paris. As a young organization, CMPS relies primarily on the financial resources of its founders and the dedication of its volunteers. Its structure is flexible, with a core team of founding members supported by volunteers across the Mediterranean region.

Mission and Objectives

The Mediterranean Center for Peace and Security (CMPS) aims to understand and identify human rights, humanitarian, and security challenges within the Mediterranean region and to address them in a neutral and impartial manner. Its mission is to promote a better understanding of regional political, social, and security dynamics through research, dialogue, and cooperation. CMPS publishes analyses on human rights, democracy, peace, and security; builds partnerships with civil society, research institutions, and public authorities; conducts advocacy by providing policymakers with policy briefs and recommendations; and remains committed to defending the rights of all individuals without distinction of gender, nationality, religious belief, or social status.

Main Projects / Activities

The Mediterranean Center for Peace and Security (CMPS) conducts research, dialogue, and advocacy initiatives across the Euro-Mediterranean region to promote peace, human rights, and inclusive development. Its activities include policy analysis on regional security and migration, organization of conferences and expert roundtables, youth-focused programmes on intercultural dialogue, and strategic engagement with international and regional organizations to strengthen cooperation and understanding between the northern and southern shores of the Mediterranean.

How can you contribute to the Network in your country?

The Mediterranean Center for Peace and Security (CMPS) can contribute to the Network in France and in the MENA region by fostering dialogue and collaboration among civil society, academic, and policy actors engaged in Euro-Mediterranean cooperation. Through its expertise in peace, human rights, and migration, CMPS can provide research-based insights, organize joint events and training sessions, and support youth and women’s initiatives that promote intercultural understanding. By connecting local stakeholders with regional and international partners, CMPS aims to strengthen the visibility and impact of the Anna Lindh Foundation’s values and programmes in France and across the Mediterranean.

Why do you want to join the ALF Network?

The Mediterranean Center for Peace and Security (CMPS) wishes to join the Anna Lindh Foundation Network to engage with a diverse community of actors committed to dialogue, and cooperation across the Euro-Mediterranean region. CMPS shares the Foundation’s vision of building bridges between cultures and believes that membership will enhance opportunities for collaboration, exchange of best practices, and joint initiatives on shared regional challenges. Joining the Network will also strengthen CMPS’s capacity to promote inclusive dialogue and contribute to a more connected and resilient Mediterranean community.
