General Information

Non for profit organisation, Comicdom Press was founded in 2004, to promote and advocate for the 9th Art of comic.

Amongst our activities are:
the annual Comics Festival Comicdom Con Athens which attracts over 30.000 visitors running since 2006
the Athens Comics Library the first-ever greek comic library
the design and facilitation of educational workshops for young people, students, schools, teachers, and librarians, as well as workshops for adults, using creative storytelling and comics
the Comics Digital Museum, launched in May 2021

Mission and Objectives

We believe in the healing power of stories and see our world as a tapestry of interconnected narratives.

Our vision is to introduce Greek audiences to the power of comics by showcasing diverse styles and traditions. We also emphasize education, fostering a love for reading, enhancing multimodal literacy, and promoting self-directed learning through comics.

For us, comics are more than just a medium—they are a tool for transformation, teaching essential soft skills such as collaboration, creative problem-solving, intercultural understanding, and empathy. They also help develop social skills by deepening our awareness of the complexities of society.
