General Information

Connexus-International is a small organization, maintained by the dedicated work of young activists from Latin America, MENA and Europe, who use their consolidated path in human rights and networks to set up initiatives around North-South cooperation, research, and education. Our work departs from concrete demands of our network, by finding potential programmes or calls through which they could implement their ideas and needs. Thus, we work on an ongoing basis under communication from both sides of the funding process: people and funders. Connexus International has also worked together with MENA organizations with multiple scopes, such as the Nobel-prized Tunisian Human Rights League and the Moroccan Association of Human Rights, who act as umbrellas for transversal strategies to mitigate inequality and support inclusion and dialogue.

Maintaining and promoting continuing education institutions and programmes, directly or with the assistance of third parties, both in Germany and abroad, with the results attained under a. to d. being made available to the public soon after they have been achieved, e. Facilitating the access to funds and grants with administrative and institutional support for grassroot organizations from the Global South, restricted to the achievement of Connexus' values and mission.

How can you contribute to the Network in your country?

Connexus-International has worked together with MENA organizations with multiple scopes, such as the Nobel-prized Tunisian Human Rights League and the Moroccan Association of Human Rights, who act as umbrellas for transversal strategies to mitigate inequality and support inclusion and dialogue. It has also recently signed a MoU with Fanni Raghman Anni (P’Art) and has jointly developed projects around enhancing democratic and human rights debates and tools in Tunisia. On the knowledge realm, we supported independent publishers and institutions that foster literature and engagement in Tunisia, besides research initiatives on intercultural communication and cooperation for development in previous contexts. We believe that investigations about historical processes, with their limits and achievements, can hammer out a better incidence for cooperation and multi-stakeholder strategies. Thus, broadening our partners in the region, while also facilitating their access to funds in Germany and the EU, can enhance our collaborative approach while bringing to Berlin and to our other partners the opportunity to raise awareness and co-create multisectoral initiatives to tackle MENA from a bottom-up perspective.

Why do you want to join the ALF Network?

The ALF Network represents an organic, plural, and capillary organization with a bridging role, mostly between MENA and Europe. Connexus, as its name suggests, has as its core mission playing a facilitating work as regards to intercultural communication, education, youth and women, as well as vulnerability groups. We believe that this membership and becoming an active member of ALF might enhance our capacity of incidence, by broadening the scope of organizations we can partner with, besides integrating and aligning our activist agenda.
