Czech–Arab Society is a non-governmental organisation which was established in 1990. To its members belong orientalists, scientists and businessmen as well as everybody who is interested in Orient. The Society is directed by a presidium and has about 450 members, who are usually divided into sections according to their interest in Arabic countries. Its annual budget is about 4000 Euro and comes from the grants. Incomes from member fees are trivial. Main projects are focused on acquainting Czech society, especially youth, with Arabic culture and are realised in cooperation with Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Culture, Prague Municipality, and Charles University in Prague (Department of Middle Eastern Studies), Czech Institute of Egyptology, Oriental Institute of the Czech Academy of Science and embassies of Arabic states in our country.

Main Projects / Activities
- Since 2013 – 2023 – Ten years of an annual project: The Czechs get to know the Arab world - Arabs life in the Czech Republic, Grant of the Municipality of the Capital City Prague
- 2006 Czech-Arab Economic Conference in coop. with Ministry of Commerce and Czech-Arab Chamber of Commerce
-2006 Arabic culture at secondary schools: lecturing, Grant of Prague Municipality
- 2005, 2006 Nursing in multicultural societies in EU. Grant of EU
- 2005, 2006 Days of Arabic Culture: lectures, exhibitions, film, music and poetry festivals
- 2005, 2006 Multicultural dimension of Southern Moravia: seminar for Czech and Slovak young orientalists. Grant of EU, Program. Youth
- 1994 organization of Conference on Czech-Arab Trade Relation, in cooperation with the Presidency of the Government and Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic, the Council of Ambassadors of Arab Countries in Prague, with the participation of Czech companies.
- Annual – organization of lectures and exhibitions focused on the Czech-Arab relations and cooperation in the field of science and culture.
- Annual – organization or participation on festivals and cultural events focused on the Middle East and north Africa countries
- Annual Oriental Bazaar of oriental goods
- Annual Oriental Workshop: pottery and painting for children and youth
How can you contribute to the Network in your country?
Contribute to the development of international cooperation through the experience of the association's leaders, who have experience of working in the Middle East and North Africa and studying the languages and culture of these areas.
