General Information

Décimas de Leveza is a recently established non-profit association based in Porto, Portugal. Our team includes 9 members with multidisciplinary backgrounds in economics, the arts, social sciences, and education. We collaborate closely with local NGOs, public institutions, and community groups to promote gender equality, social inclusion, and cultural participation.
We are currently involved in EU project applications under Erasmus+ and other frameworks, and developing partnerships at both local and international levels. We design and implement inclusive cultural and educational initiatives with women, youth, and marginalized communities. Our methodology integrates data-based advocacy, storytelling, and community-led artistic practices. to foster intercultural dialogue and local resilience.

Mission and Objectives

Our mission is to foster social transformation through inclusive, participatory, and creative approaches. We work primarily with women, youth, and marginalized communities to:
Promote gender equality and combat discrimination.
Empower local communities through artistic and educational tools.
Facilitate intercultural dialogue and community engagement.
Support the visibility of care work, informal knowledge, and local leadership.

We aim to bridge grassroots realities with policy and institutional frameworks, amplifying the voices of those traditionally excluded from the decision-making process.

Main Projects / Activities

Some of our recent and ongoing initiatives include:
“The Voice, Woman” – A local project that highlights the role of women in the economic and social resilience of Campanhã (Porto), through storytelling, public campaigns, and advocacy tools.
“The Stage” – Artistic and theatre-based activities co-created with community members to express lived experiences of inequality and resilience.
EU Project Applications – We are currently coordinating proposals on adult learning, gender-disaggregated data, and innovation in non-formal education, in partnership with international organizations.
Local Walks and Interventions – Guided explorations that combine community mapping, environmental awareness, and memory preservation in urban marginalized areas.
