EPEKA was established in 2012 for the purpose of creating and developing cultural and educational programs for the disadvantaged young people and women. We are a non-governmental and non-profit organisation. We have 35 members. We are active in the field of contemporary art, ICT, non-formal education, ecology, entrepreneurship, local handicrafts, youth programs and volunteering. We provide non-formal education abroad and in our town with a multicultural atmosphere for the young people that we are working with. We send them to European countries to learn in international groups of young people such as youth exchanges, training courses for youth and youth volunteering. At the same time, we host European young people here in Sinop for youth exchanges about environment, crisis management, leadership, volunteering, media and digital literacy, etc.
Since EPEKA was accredited for volunteering in 2012, EPEKA has been sending and hosting volunteers under the ESC. EPEKA also has an ESC Quality Label, the Humanitarian Aid Volunteering. We have two approved projects and we have been sending aid to 3rd world countries.
Our other concern is stray animals and the environment. We work in collaboration with Sahipsiz Hayvanlari Koruma ve Yaşatma Derneği, which is an NGO for the stray animals in Sinop and help them with our fund raising activities.
We also collaborate with the Sinopale (the International Sinop Biennial) every two years. For Sinopale, a lot of curators and artists come from all over the world and give a delicious taste of all disciplines of art.

How can you contribute to the Network in your country?
I can bring my experience to the Network and share it with the other members. We can collaborate on activities with the same aims and objectives.
Why do you want to join the ALF Network?
I would like to expand our network and find partners with the same viewpoints. Also I have been following the works of Anna Lindh Foundation all over the world and I appreciate that very much. It would be an honor for me to be a member of the foundation on behalf of my organisation.
