General Information

1. The One World Network Thuringia Eine Welt Netzwerk Thüringen EWNT is a registered non-profit association. There are no employees, but people working on a voluntarily or freelance basis. The committee comprises 5 people. 2. In 2006 the budget of the EWNT had amounted about 90,000€ and for the year 2007 there are scheduled ca 140,000€. 3. Funding sources are: membership fees, donations, the Church Development Service EED, the Catholic Fund Katholischer Fonds, Thüringer Staatskanzlei, the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development BMZ. 4. Modalities of action: organising various educational events and trainings, arranging exhibitions, lobbying, managing the Development Political Days of Education and Information of Thuringia Thüringer Entwicklungspolitische Bildungs- und Informationstage ThEBIT. 5. Main partners are: the German Development Service DED, the German Federal Garden Show Gera BUGA ’07, Thuringian Decade for Education and Sustainable Development.

Mission and Objectives

Main emphases of the One World Network Thuringia Eine Welt Netzwerk Thüringen are: • development political education and global learning • cultural work • networking and lobbying • public relations • consulting and qualifying activities • project supporting, promoting and sponsoring These emphases are to connect politics and business, associations and initiatives, as well as individuals in Thuringia to create collectively a wide lobby for development political issues, both on political and societal level. The Eine Welt Netzwerk Thüringen desires and wants to be a mouthpiece in Thuringia for global justice and resource conservation.

Main Projects / Activities

Current main activities are: • managing the Development Political Days of Education and Information of Thuringia Thüringer Entwicklungspolitische Bildungs- und Informationstage ThEBIT • arranging a pavilion on global learning at the German Federal Garden Show BUGA ’07 • being a part of the Thuringian campaign Organic Regional Fair Bio Regional Fair • organising the Germany wide film campaign Überarbeiten • supporting and co-operation with the exhibition Human Footprint.
