Facta Non Verba is a non-profit theatre collective based in Thessaloniki, Greece, founded to cultivate performing arts, promote contemporary and traditional theatre forms, and foster intercultural artistic exchange. The collective produces performances, seminars, residencies, and training programs in theatre, digital arts, and research. There are no permanent employees; depending on project funding, two to five collaborators are paid per production, while a core group of volunteers continuously supports the work. Each year, the collective receives public or European grants averaging €10,000–15,000 for artistic or educational projects. Dr Elena Stamatopoulou, theatre director and scholar, serves as Artistic Director. Core members include Eleni Daga, Alexandros Tsonos, Evanthia Stavrou, Vasilis Mellios, and Marianna Gkousdouva. Since 2024, Facta Non Verba has collaborated with Egyptian artist Ahmed Maraie Eid Fesal, developing intercultural projects that merge performance, research, and digital innovation.
Mission and Objectives
Facta Non Verba founded to promote dialogue, creativity, and cultural understanding through the performing arts. Its mission is to use theatre as a transformative tool for social reflection, intercultural connection, and collective creation. The collective’s activities include the production of performances, workshops, residencies, and educational programs that combine artistic practice, research, and digital innovation.
Facta Non Verba encourages collaboration among artists from different cultural and social backgrounds, fostering inclusion, equality, and empathy through artistic exchange. Its projects often explore themes of non-violence, memory, identity, and human connection, linking local narratives to global concerns. Working within the Euro-Mediterranean context, the collective aims to contribute to the Anna Lindh Foundation’s vision of building bridges between cultures through creativity, mutual respect, and shared learning.
Main Projects / Activities
Facta Non Verba develops artistic, educational, and intercultural projects that merge theatre, research, and social engagement. The collective produces performances, workshops, and residencies exploring the relationship between body, memory, and identity, often in collaboration with international artists and cultural institutions.
Among its key initiatives are “Public Acts: A Journey to Non-Violence,” a Euro-Mediterranean project promoting non-violence through performance; “Unda: A Cosmic Performance for Connection,” focusing on water, ritual, and human interconnectedness; and “Me, Memory, Mnemonic,” a performance-based research project investigating collective and embodied memory through participatory theatrical practices. In collaboration with the educational platform “Digital on Stage” explores AI and digital innovation in contemporary theatre.
The group also organizes seminars, youth programs, and artistic residencies for collective creation. Its collaborations with Living Theatre Europa (Italy) and Ahmed Maraie Eid Fesal (Egypt) foster intercultural artistic dialogues across the Euro-Mediterranean region.

Facta Non Verba can contribute to the Anna Lindh Network in Greece by promoting intercultural dialogue through artistic and educational initiatives that connect communities across disciplines and cultures. The collective offers expertise in applied theatre, digital performance, and non-formal education, organizing workshops, residencies, and collaborative performances that foster empathy, critical reflection, and shared creativity.
Through its ongoing collaborations with artists from Europe and the Mediterranean, Facta Non Verba can serve as a bridge between academic research and community practice, engaging youth, educators, and artists in participatory projects. The collective aims to strengthen the Greek network by developing cross-border partnerships, hosting intercultural labs, and contributing to public discourse on art, identity, and social transformation.

The collective shares the Foundation’s values of mutual understanding, peace, and cooperation through the arts.
