Educational Work:
Over the years, Grad Zero has conducted intense creative and multidisciplinary training activities both at its historic headquarters in Lecce and in other locations and cities.
It has developed initiatives in collaboration with public schools, universities, prisons, therapeutic communities, and various cultural and training centers, foundations, associations, and social cooperatives, even implementing projects in "decentralized" locations.
Many of the projects have been carried out with the support of public institutions such as the Ministry of Cultural Heritage or Foreign Affairs, Regions, Provinces, Municipalities, Museums, Media Libraries, etc.
Cultural Promotion Work:
Grad zero has conceived and organized various events, festivals, artistic residencies, and creative workshops, including:
- CinemascopRe, an art festival for the centenary of cinema, supported by the Municipality and Province of Lecce (1995);
- 1st Dance Theater Festival in the Selva di Paliano (Fr.), prepared through a long study process in the isolation of the Selva and realized with the support of the Presidency of the Council of Ministers, Department of Entertainment (which recognized it as being of national interest), the Lazio Region, and the Municipality of Paliano (1998). During the study period, which also benefited from a collaboration with the Chair of Theater History at the University of Rome "La Sapienza" led by Professor L. Mariti, Grad zero hosted a workshop for several students of the interdisciplinary contemporary dancer training course co-financed by the European Social Fund-Lombardy Region–Ministry of Labor and Social Security and organized by the A. Borriello Teatridithalia/Danza Association.
- The Manifattura, an unstable resting place for art (1999-2003): Grad zero transformed a former tobacco factory and fortified farmhouse, in the heart of the Terra d'Otranto, into an artistic residence where it carries out its work and hosts other national and international artists, events, and projects. It curates various exhibitions dedicated to the contamination of the arts, in collaboration with the Municipality of San Cassiano, the Province of Lecce, the APT (Agricultural Tourism Board), Lega Ambiente, the Cinit Cineforum, and many other Italian and international organizations, associations, and cultural centers.
- The creation of the Archivio liquido dell'Identità (Liquid Archive of Identity) project-workshop, dedicated to the theme of identity.
This highly innovative project operates through a network of collaborations and partnerships, such as those established with the Puglia Region, the Teca del Mediterraneo, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and various private foundations.
- Scena No made l’Arsenale del Corpo e dei Luoghi (Scene No Made: The Arsenal of the Body and Places), a collaborative exhibition. with the Municipality of Lecce and the Ministry of Cultural Heritage, Activities and Tourism for Lecce 2015 – Capital of Culture.
- Via Appia Scena No Made, in collaboration with Pugliapromozione and the Puglia Region - South Cultural Routes and the Ministry of Cultural Heritage, Activities and Tourism (2017).
- Scena No Made 3 created as part of the project "What are we capable of doing" for the tagliatelle farm of the Municipality of Lecce and the Puglia Region. (2019).
- The Zero Factory cultural residency in Novoli (Lecce). With various multidisciplinary events including Cinema in the Woods. (2020/26).
