Haddouta Mesreya Association established its activity in 2014 and was founded officially in 2018 to promote development for marginalized Egyptian communities by awakening authentic humanity within them and encouraging lifelong learning process. We believe that the process of lifelong learning increases the awareness of individuals and communities of their reality of their existence and understanding of themselves, their missions and the world around them. This in turn can contribute to an aware constructive society capable of bringing change, development and transformation.
Our primary focus is on women and kids as we believe that they are the vulnerable categories in our society due to the patriarchal culture which favorites males over females

Main Projects / Activities
1. I am a genuine Egyptian project (2019 - present)
The project works on empowering girls and women socially, where they find a role in their societies and become active citizens through community work and our mentorship program. The project achieves that by working on developing the girls and young women skills, sense of responsibility, belonging, peaceful coexistence and their understanding of humanitarian values.
I am a genuine Egyptian. It is a mentorship program for girls who are studying in high schools and universities.. The project offers monthly allowance to help them cover their tuition and school/university needs, as most of these girls are from low-income families and live in remote or slum areas. This is coming as a contribution to alleviating the hardships that women and girls suffer in patriarchal societies, being the weakest link when economic challenges prevail and the first to drop out of schools.
The project goals:
I. To enhance the leadership skills and the values of responsibility, belonging and peaceful co-existence of girls who are studying in university and high school and are in need to continue their college education and to be prepared for the job market.
II. To keep children in school and prevent them from drop-out by enhancing their reading and writing skills and practicing the human values in creative activities to be applied in their daily life.
The project’s activities:
1. Mentoring sessions: Each volunteer is responsible for one or 2 children, where she follows up on the child’s educational attainment and/or teaches them the basics of reading and writing to contribute to reducing the percentage of children’s drop-out of school. The mentor also helps the children to discover his/her talents, hobbies and points of strengths. In addition to working with them on understanding and embodying the humanitarian values through age-appropriate group activities and value-related tasks.
2. Talent classes: drawing, theater and handicrafts classes are organized to enhance creativity among children and to help them discover their talents.
3. Reading class: organized to improve the children’s literacy, reading comprehension and enhance their creative and critical thinking.

How can you contribute to the Network in your country?
We can create safe dialogue spaces at the grassroots level, especially for young people from marginalized communities, fostering mutual understanding and peaceful coexistence.
We can equip young volunteers with facilitation and critical thinking skills to become local ambassadors of intercultural dialogue.
We can share grassroots stories and best practices from our community, contributing practical insights to the Network at the national and regional levels.
We can integrate intercultural values into our educational and community programs, promoting a culture of coexistence and inclusion.
Why do you want to join the ALF Network?
We want to continue as a member of the Anna Lindh Foundation Network because we strongly believe in the power of intercultural dialogue to build inclusive and peaceful societies. Being part of the Network allows us to connect our grassroots work with a wider Euro-Mediterranean community that shares the same values of diversity, coexistence, and active citizenship.
Through continued membership, we aim to strengthen partnerships, exchange knowledge, and expand the impact of our local initiatives by linking them to regional efforts. We see the Network not only as a platform for collaboration, but as a long-term space for collective learning and sustainable change.
