General Information

Human Mobility Network (HMN) is a youth-led organization dedicated to reshaping international narratives and policies surrounding migration and human mobility, with a strategic emphasis on Global South perspectives and its diasporas. Founded on the principles of social entrepreneurship and human rights, HMN bridges the gap between grassroots activism and high-level diplomacy. The network empowers emerging leaders to actively engage in multilateral spaces, driving concrete policy discussions and demanding safer, legal pathways of mobility as vital instruments for historic reparations and international cooperation.

Mission and Objectives

To reshape international narratives and policies on migration by centering Global South perspectives and its diasporas. HMN bridges the gap between grassroots youth leadership, academic research, and high-level diplomacy to advocate for human rights and safe mobility.
Objectives:
To structurally integrate diaspora and Global South voices into multilateral policy agendas.
To institutionalize permanent spaces for young researchers and changemakers in diplomatic and international forums.
To foster non-colonial, horizontal networks of cooperation and intercultural dialogue across Europe, Africa, and Latin America.

Main Projects / Activities

Policy Research & Advocacy: Developing evidence-based policy briefs and strategic reports on human mobility, migration, and integration to actively influence regional and international public agendas.
Multilateral Side-Events & High-Level Dialogues: Designing and coordinating high-level advocacy spaces within major international forums—such as the upcoming side-event for the XXX Ibero-American Summit—focusing on youth leadership, safe migration pathways, and Euro-Afro-Latin American triangulation.
Coalition Building & Networking: Establishing horizontal, non-colonial networks of cooperation between youth-led organizations, academic institutions, and civil society actors across Europe and the Global South to foster structural intercultural dialogue.
Capacity Building & Leadership Labs: Organizing workshops, strategic roundtables, and mentoring programs aimed at empowering emerging diaspora leaders in human rights defense, international relations, and public policy management.

How can you contribute to the Network in your country?

Human Mobility Network (HMN) can significantly enrich the ALF Spanish Network by bridging the gap between youth leadership, academic policy research, and international migration agendas. We offer a vibrant, youth-led platform that brings critical Global South and diaspora perspectives directly into the intercultural dialogue. Specifically, HMN can contribute by co-organizing high-level multilateral side-events, developing evidence-based policy briefs on human mobility, and strengthening horizontal coalitions between civil society organizations across the Euro-Mediterranean, African, and Ibero-American spaces. Our active involvement will help mobilize young researchers and changemakers within Spain, amplifying the network’s regional impact and fostering actionable policy recommendations.

Why do you want to join the ALF Network?

We want to join the Anna Lindh Foundation Network to institutionalize our commitment to Euro-Mediterranean intercultural dialogue and to scale our advocacy for safe, human-rights-centered mobility. Joining the ALF Network provides HMN with a unique collaborative ecosystem to connect with like-minded organizations, exchange best practices on integration and diversity, and build transnational partnerships. As a youth-led organization, we believe that systemic challenges like migration and historical reparations require multilateral, horizontal cooperation. Being part of the network will allow us to actively contribute to ALF’s mission while gaining a strategic platform to empower emerging diaspora leaders in Spain and across the Mediterranean region.
