The Institut français is the operator of France's external cultural action. It was created by the law of 27 July 2010 on the State's external action and its implementing decree of 30 December 2010.
Mission and Objectives
Promoting French culture: The Institute promotes French arts, literature, cinema and other forms of cultural expression through events, exhibitions, concerts, film screenings and festivals, and builds bridges between artists from Mediterranean countries.
Disseminating the French language: It organises French courses for all ages and levels, offers recognised certifications (such as DELF and DALF), and supports teachers of French in Cyprus through teaching resources.
Facilitating cultural and educational exchanges: The Institute acts as a mediator between Cypriot and French institutions in order to develop partnerships in a variety of fields, including the arts, universities and science, as well as debating ideas.
Supporting French-speaking projects: By working with local and international artists, the Institute highlights initiatives that reflect the values of diversity and cultural dialogue.
Supporting students wishing to study in France: Through programmes such as Campus France, it provides information and support for enrolment in French higher education establishments.
Main Projects / Activities
To organise artistic and cultural events highlighting French heritage and contemporary creation in the Mediterranean.
Promoting cultural diversity through exchanges between French and Cypriot artists and artists from the Mediterranean region.
Educational and scientific cooperation :
Develop partnerships between Cypriot and French universities.

Act as a bridge between France and Cyprus for cultural, educational and scientific exchanges.
