Prof. Dr. Norman Birnbaum from Georgetown University Law Center, Washington, presides the advisory board, which is comprised of 33 members from 19 countries. Currently the IIP employs 5 people.Mission and Objectives
The aim of the IIP is to make well-founded information about developments actually or potentially threatening peace available to the public. Relevant research projects in cooperation with Austrian and international experts provide findings in the fields of economy, society and peaceful conflict resolution to governments and international organizations.Main Projects / Activities
The IIP organizes research, lectures and symposia in the economic and socio-political field and publishes the corresponding outcome and conclusions. Since 1992 the work of the institute has been focused on the socio-economic reconstruction of the Central- and Eastern European Markets (Market Shock), the United Nations reform, the international legal order, security and EU-Foreign Policy. Special attention is also drawn to the security-political situation of the US-American military hegemony, the development of an EU-Foreign and Security Policy, the future development of NATO as well as the integration of Russia, China and India into a new world order, without the use of violence. Another important issue is the peaceful solution of ethno-political conflicts.
