Internationaler Jugend- und Bildungsverein Kaiserslautern e.V. (IJBK e.V.) is a registered non-profit youth association based in Kaiserslautern, Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany. Founded on 8 July 2025, the organisation developed from the long-standing work of the Studentisches Netzwerk der RPTU, a youth-led and student-driven initiative at Rheinland-Pfälzische Technische Universität. The transition into a legally registered association strengthened its administrative structure and capacity to coordinate and participate in European projects. IJBK e.V. is managed by a multidisciplinary team of young professionals and students with expertise in artificial intelligence, data science, information technology, psychology, social sciences, logistics, project management and community organising. The organisation works locally and internationally through workshops, community actions, Erasmus+ Youth Exchanges, training courses and partner-based projects.
Mission and Objectives
IJBK e.V.’s mission is to empower young people through inclusive, participatory and non-formal education. The organisation aims to equip young people with practical personal and professional competences that respond to current social and technological developments and reflect European youth priorities. Its main objectives include developing digital skills and responsible Artificial Intelligence awareness, promoting intercultural learning and international understanding, strengthening sustainability and environmental responsibility, encouraging civic engagement and supporting social inclusion. IJBK e.V. also promotes social entrepreneurship, arts, culture, sports, well-being and resilience. Young people are regarded not only as beneficiaries but also as active co-creators of learning opportunities. Through local and international cooperation, the association seeks to strengthen youth participation, European awareness, community responsibility and the capacity of young people to contribute positively to diverse and resilient societies.
Main Projects / Activities
IJBK e.V. organises local workshops, hikes and well-being activities with student networks such as ESN Kaiserslautern, bringing international and German young people together to promote inclusion, sustainability and intercultural dialogue. It also delivers introductory digital-literacy and AI activities that encourage critical, practical and responsible technology use. Internationally, the organisation prepares and sends participants to Erasmus+ Youth Exchanges and Training Courses and contributes to project design, facilitation, dissemination and coordination. Previous activities include AI Tools 4 Youth Work, Digitalisation Matters, Act It Out!, Youth Empowerment for Resilient Communities, AI 4 Social Impact and Art Against Hate Speech. Its coordinated projects include DiscoverEU Memories Journal, Green Stage for Sustainable Future, Online Awareness & Safety in Society, Who Am AI? and Connected, Not Consumed.
How can you contribute to the Network in your country?
IJBK e.V. can contribute by organising youth-led workshops, intercultural activities and community actions on digital literacy, responsible AI, sustainability and inclusion. We can connect local students and associations with European partners, share non-formal education methods, support joint projects and disseminate Network opportunities among young people across Germany.
Why do you want to join the ALF Network?
We want to join the ALF Network to strengthen intercultural dialogue, build sustainable partnerships and exchange effective youth-work practices. Membership would help us expand opportunities for young people, develop collaborative initiatives across the Euro-Mediterranean region and contribute our experience in digital education, AI awareness, inclusion and community engagement
