General Information

ICRS – Istituto Italo-Cinese per le Relazioni Sostenibili is a transnational, future-facing NGO registered in France. We work at the intersection of culture, climate, gender, and civic diplomacy, promoting sustainable cooperation between Europe and China. Our activities include exhibitions, multi-stakeholder dialogues, policy-driven cultural programs, and strategic partnerships across institutions.

Mission and Objectives

ICRS aims to foster a new model of sustainable collaboration between cities, cultures, and generations. Our mission is to reframe global challenges—such as climate change, gender inequality, and urban transition—through the lens of cultural exchange and civic participation. We emphasize storytelling, visual diplomacy, and cross-sector engagement as tools for building resilient, inclusive societies.

Main Projects / Activities

• Narratives of Urban Resilience: a cross-cultural SDG initiative launched on the UN Action Platform (#SDGAction58128), connecting Genoa (Italy) and Harbin (China) through climate storytelling and civic innovation.
• ICRS Climate Culture Dialogue Series: roundtables, webinars, and publications that explore sustainable development through arts and intercultural perspectives.
• Partnership Development: co-curation with energy companies, universities, and public institutions to advance clean energy awareness and cultural diplomacy.
• UNESCO/SDG Participation: active submission and contribution to global platforms related to culture and sustainability.

How can you contribute to the Network in your country?

As a cross-cultural institute based in Europe, ICRS can actively contribute by bridging Chinese and Italian stakeholders through dialogue initiatives, art-based SDG projects, and women-led urban diplomacy frameworks. We aim to create a bilateral cultural bridge that resonates with the ALF’s vision across Euro-Mediterranean societies.

Why do you want to join the ALF Network?

We believe the ALF Network is an essential space for building long-term intercultural cooperation. Joining would allow ICRS to expand its partnerships in the Mediterranean area, amplify female leadership in sustainability narratives, and collaborate on projects that promote inclusive cultural storytelling and shared civic innovation.
