"Journalists Without Borders" is a non-profit Palestinian media organization, officially registered since 2010, with the aim of achieving a "better media" by enhancing the Palestinian media sector through qualified human resources. The organization focuses on investing in media students and graduates by empowering, training, and qualifying them according to the highest professional standards, preparing them to enter the job market with comprehensive professional skills. Additionally, the organization works on building partnerships and networks with media professionals, media outlets, and local and regional institutions, fostering communication and active engagement of young journalists within the media community and the surrounding societies.
JWB believes in and promotes media freedoms, adheres to human rights principles, and integrates them into its various programs. It also strives to achieve equality, transparency, and integrity, while advocating for justice and humanity in all its activities.
JWB works to achieve the following goals:
•Developing the skills of media students and recent graduates in various media fields, while building a free press.
•Creating platforms and incubator networks to foster journalistic and media creativity among young people.
•Empowering and integrating young media graduates into the media workforce.
•Enhancing communication between young journalists and the community through social initiatives.
•Supporting professional, independent media outlets and promoting their independence.
(JWB) achieves its objectives through four main programs:
Independent Media and Human Rights Program
The program aims to support the independence of free and independent media while enhancing young journalists' awareness of human rights and their ability to report on these issues objectively and professionally.
Monitoring Unit: monitor and document press freedom violations, and publish regular reports on the state of media freedom in Palestine.
Legal and Psychological Support: Providing legal and psychological assistance to journalists and media organizations facing challenges, in collaboration with lawyers and human rights organizations.
Workshops: Conduct workshops to educate journalists on human rights principles and journalism ethics, with a focus on objective and humane coverage of human rights issues.
Awareness Campaigns: media campaigns to increase public awareness of press freedom and human rights.
Comprehensive Professional Training Program for Young Journalists
This program is designed to empower media students and recent graduates, equipping them with high-level professional skills to prepare them for entry into the media industry with confidence and expertise.
Specialized Training Courses and Workshops: Providing focused training in areas such as print journalism, digital media, radio broadcasting, and media-related artificial intelligence to build essential and advanced skills.
Practical Training and Volunteering Opportunities: Offering real-world training and volunteer positions within local and regional media organizations to enhance hands-on field skills.
Media Career Mentorship: Professional mentorship under experienced media experts across various specialties to develop essential skills and readiness for the job market.
Media Networking and Partnerships Program
This program aims to build supportive networks and enhance connections between young journalists, media organizations, journalists, and local and international human rights institutions.
Youth Media Network: network for young journalists to foster opportunities for collaboration with diverse media institutions.
Strategic Partnerships: alliances with local and international human rights and media organizations to facilitate training and employment opportunities for youth.
Regular Meetings and Seminars: periodic meetings and seminars that bring together young journalists with media experts to enhance the exchange of experiences and expand their professional networks.
Media Innovation and Technology Program
The program aims to foster creativity and innovation among young media professionals, providing them with modern tools and techniques to produce impactful and widely circulated media content.
•Media competitions that encourage creative and human rights-oriented coverage of societal issues, offering support for outstanding initiatives.
•Conducting advanced workshops on digital media tools.
•Supporting innovative youth media projects, such as documentaries and digital content, and providing a platform for showcasing and promoting their work.
•Launching awareness campaigns on press freedom and human rights in collaboration with local and international human rights organizations.
