Karama Foundation is a non-profit organization that works in social assistance, child and mother care, friendship between peoples, economic development, educational services, special groups and the disabled, and environmental protection and preservation.
Mission and Objectives
Generating revenue and employment opportunities for marginalized communities, through integrating them into value chains of creative industries and revitalizing traditional crafts.

A. Raising awareness on handicrafts at risk
1. Social media strategy on handicrafts at risk
Awareness campaigns will be launched on social media to raise awareness on handicrafts at risk.
2. Documentation of the history of crafts
Documenting the history of each craft through different media (images, videos, storytelling) to raise awareness.
3. Participation in cultural events
The participation in cultural events is very useful to raise awareness on handicrafts at risk through connecting with other organizations working in the same field. Karama’s team will prepare a quarterly plan for the cultural events that will attended or organized by Karama.
4. Partnerships with cultural entities and authorities
The partnership with relevant entities will contribute to raising awareness within these entities and to take part in the events organized by them (exhibitions, conferences..).
B. Capacity-building for existing and potential artisans
1. Training programs for existing and potential artisans
Karama will continue providing training programs for potential and existing artisans. It will also collaborate with its network of business owners in the selected industries to draft high-quality training programs adapted to the market needs.
2. Partnerships with governmental vocational schools
Establishing partnerships with additional vocational schools will give Karama access to more training facilities; it will also help increasing the number of training programs and thus, the trained artisans.
3. Refurbishment of existing workshops.
Karama seeks to improve the quality of final products through increasing the capacity of workshops which will also increase the potential income of the artisans.
A. Creating income-generating opportunities for artisans
1. Commissioning productions.
The production team will continue providing business opportunities for the artisans in the relevant sectors.
2. Introducing and promoting the products in new markets.
The marketing strategy conducted by GebRaa will help Karama opening new markets for the artisans nationally and internationally and promoting their products in the new markets.
3. Finding employment opportunities for training graduates.
Finding employment opportunities for the trained artisans will help improving the livelihood of the artisans, it will also increase the demand on the training programs. This will be achieved through the partnerships achieved with the business owners in each sector.
Main Projects / Activities
A project to revive the craft of inlay in Egypt, funded by the Darsuis Foundation, a project to teach women the craft of embroidery Funded by Exxon Mobil Egypt, and we are now working on the second phase of it.

**. Our contributions will include:**
1. **Expanding Social Impact:** We will share our experience in supporting vulnerable groups, including mothers, children, and people with disabilities, by organizing awareness campaigns, training programs, and community support initiatives.
2. **Educational and Economic Development:** Through our work in educational services and economic empowerment, we aim to collaborate with network members to develop skill-building programs, vocational training, and entrepreneurship initiatives for marginalized communities.
3. **Strengthening Cross-Cultural Ties:** We will promote intercultural dialogue and cooperation by facilitating cultural exchange programs and partnerships with other organizations within the Annalinda Network.
4. **Environmental Protection and Sustainability:** As part of our commitment to environmental preservation, we will contribute by sharing best practices in sustainability, engaging communities in eco-friendly projects, and participating in regional environmental initiatives.
5. **Collaborative Networking and Knowledge Sharing:** We will actively participate in Annalinda’s events, workshops, and discussions, offering insights from our field experience and learning from other members to enhance collective impact.
