KIT4 – Association for Development and Research of Cultural Industries is a non-profit organisation established in 2022 in Slovenia. The organisation works at the intersection of art, research, heritage, community engagement and cultural development. KIT4 develops interdisciplinary, research-based and participatory projects, exhibitions, publications, workshops and public programmes, often in collaboration with cultural institutions, museums, artists, researchers and local communities.
The organisation is led by a small core team and collaborates with a wider network of artists, designers, architects, researchers, cultural professionals and partner organisations. Current activities focus on contemporary art, participatory heritage, creative health, community-based cultural initiatives and international cooperation. KIT4 operates primarily in Slovenia while actively developing European and Euro-Mediterranean partnerships.
Mission and Objectives
KIT4's mission is to foster meaningful connections between art, research, communities and cultural heritage. Through interdisciplinary and participatory approaches, the organisation creates opportunities for dialogue, learning, creativity and social engagement. KIT4 believes that culture can strengthen understanding, inclusion, wellbeing and collaboration across different communities and generations.
Objectives
• To develop and support contemporary artistic and cultural projects.
• To promote research-based and participatory approaches in art and heritage.
• To encourage intercultural dialogue and international cooperation.
• To strengthen community engagement through creative and inclusive cultural activities.
• To support knowledge exchange between artists, researchers, cultural organisations and local communities.

Main Projects / Activities
• Development and production of contemporary art exhibitions, installations and interdisciplinary projects.
• Research-based cultural and heritage initiatives connecting contemporary artistic practice with local stories, memory and identity.
• Participatory projects involving local communities, young people, older adults and underrepresented groups.
• Artist-led workshops, educational programmes and public engagement activities.
• International cultural cooperation, exchanges and partnership development.
• Documentation, interpretation and dissemination of cultural heritage through artistic and creative methods.
• Development of projects at the intersection of art, community wellbeing, social inclusion and cultural participation.
Recent activities include interdisciplinary exhibitions, artist publications, participatory heritage research, community workshops and collaborative projects developed with museums, cultural institutions and international partners.
How can you contribute to the Network in your country?
KIT4 can contribute to the Network by connecting artistic practice, research, cultural heritage and community engagement. We can share experience in developing participatory cultural projects, interdisciplinary artistic initiatives and community-based approaches that strengthen dialogue, inclusion and social cohesion.
Through our activities, exhibitions, workshops and international collaborations, we aim to facilitate knowledge exchange between artists, cultural professionals, researchers and local communities. We are particularly interested in contributing to discussions on cultural participation, living heritage, intercultural dialogue, community wellbeing and creative approaches to social challenges.
KIT4 is also committed to building partnerships across the Euro-Mediterranean region and actively supporting collaborative projects, exchanges and learning opportunities within the Network.

KIT4 would like to join the Anna Lindh Foundation Network to connect with organisations and professionals who believe in the role of culture, dialogue and creativity in building more inclusive and resilient societies.
Our work is rooted in artistic practice, research, cultural heritage and community engagement, and we see strong alignment with the values of intercultural dialogue, participation and mutual understanding promoted by the ALF.
