Magammal Viszem Foundation (MAVISZ) is a Hungarian non-profit foundation established in March 2024, working in youth work, adult education, and community development through non-formal education approaches. The organisation is governed by a Board of three members and operates through a small core team of unpaid members, external trainers, facilitators, and volunteers supported by a wider European network of partners. MAVISZ implements local and international activities including workshops, training courses, youth exchanges, seminars, educational campaigns, community initiatives, and Erasmus+ projects. Current annual resources mainly come from project-based funding, Erasmus+ programmes, partnerships, and organisational contributions. Main partners include Eurodesk Hungary, youth organisations and NGOs across Europe, municipalities, educational institutions, and international networks. MAVISZ promotes participation, intercultural dialogue, inclusion, competence development, and active citizenship through learner-centred educational practices.
Mission and Objectives
Magammal Viszem Foundation (MAVISZ) is a Hungarian non-profit organisation founded in March 2024 in Budapest, working in the fields of youth work, adult learning, and community development through non-formal education and experiential learning approaches.
MAVISZ aims to create inclusive learning environments where young people and communities can develop competences, strengthen social participation, and engage constructively with diversity and societal challenges. The organisation promotes lifelong learning and supports young people, especially those with fewer opportunities, in developing skills, attitudes, and values that contribute to personal growth and active citizenship.
The foundation's objectives include:
• promoting intercultural dialogue and mutual understanding among young people and communities
• strengthening social inclusion and participation of young people with fewer opportunities
• supporting competence development through non-formal education and innovative learning tools
• promoting human rights, democratic values, and active citizenship
• fostering emotional well-being, conflict transformation, and constructive communication
• creating opportunities for international cooperation and learning mobility
• encouraging community development and social responsibility at local and international levels
This work is implemented through learner-centred methodologies that prioritise participation, reflection, peer learning, and practical application.
Main Projects / Activities
MAVISZ implements local and international educational activities that support youth participation, intercultural dialogue, and competence development.
Main activities include:
Non-formal educational workshops and training activities
The organisation designs and delivers workshops, training courses, and learning activities for young people, youth workers, educators, and community members. Topics include conflict management, emotional intelligence, communication, active citizenship, inclusion, and personal development.
MORE – Mediation on Responsibilities and Exploitation
MAVISZ develops and promotes MORE, an educational role-play tool based on experiential learning and simulation. The tool supports dialogue and reflection on topics such as migration, negotiation, responsibility-sharing, human rights, and conflict management.
Youth information and outreach through Eurodesk
As an official Eurodesk partner in Hungary, MAVISZ provides information and guidance on European opportunities including Erasmus+, European Solidarity Corps, youth participation initiatives, and mobility opportunities. Activities include workshops, information sessions, and awareness-raising events in schools and universities.
Community development and local engagement
MAVISZ works locally in Budapest, including activities supporting young people from vulnerable backgrounds and communities experiencing social challenges. Through participatory methods and facilitated dialogue, the organisation aims to strengthen inclusion, community cohesion, and mutual understanding.
International cooperation and Erasmus+ projects
The organisation actively participates in European cooperation projects and partnership networks, promoting exchange of practices, intercultural learning, and quality development in youth work.
How can you contribute to the Network in your country?
MAVISZ can contribute to the Anna Lindh Foundation Network in Hungary by creating opportunities for intercultural dialogue, youth participation, and cooperation among local and international actors. Through our experience in non-formal education and youth work, we can organise workshops, seminars, training activities, and community initiatives that bring together young people from different backgrounds and encourage mutual understanding, inclusion, and active participation.
As an official Eurodesk partner in Hungary, MAVISZ can support outreach and dissemination by connecting young people with European opportunities and promoting active citizenship. The organisation can also contribute innovative educational approaches, including MORE, an experiential role-play tool that uses dialogue and simulation to explore themes such as diversity, responsibility-sharing, human rights, and coexistence. Through these methodologies, participants are encouraged to understand different perspectives, challenge stereotypes, and strengthen intercultural understanding.
MAVISZ can further support networking and partnership building by connecting local organisations, educational institutions, municipalities, and European youth networks.
Why do you want to join the ALF Network?
MAVISZ wants to join the Anna Lindh Foundation Network because we strongly believe that intercultural dialogue and cooperation are essential for creating more inclusive, peaceful, and connected societies. Through our work with young people and communities, we regularly see the importance of creating spaces where people can learn from one another, challenge stereotypes, and build mutual understanding.
Joining the network would provide an opportunity to exchange experiences, methodologies, and good practices with organisations from across the Euro-Mediterranean region while strengthening our own capacity and impact. We see the network as a valuable platform for building long-term partnerships and developing meaningful initiatives that connect local realities with wider international cooperation.
MAVISZ also wants to actively contribute to the network by sharing its experience in non-formal education, youth work, innovative learning tools, and community-based approaches that promote participation and dialogue.
