Mellem Education is an organization dedicated to learning through groups, using a pedagogical approach rooted in democracy education to transform moments of tension and differing perspectives into opportunities for growth. By engaging in interactive group activities followed by structured reflection, participants develop self-awareness, strengthen their ability to collaborate, and foster more inclusive and democratic spaces in their communities.
Mission and Objectives
Mellem Education provides educational experiences in the form of trainings and workshops that challenge individuals to examine their role in group decision-making. Whether in trainings for youth workers or professional development workshops in workplaces, the goal remains the same: to foster awareness of each person’s equal right to freedom and responsibility in shaping inclusive and democratic spaces. By engaging in this process, individuals not only strengthen their ability to work together but also contribute to a society rooted in dialogue, equity, and peace – building change from the ground up.
Main Projects / Activities
We have experience in organizing and facilitating trainings and workshops on both the national and international level. So far our trainings have taken place in countries such as Denmark, Hungary, Germany, Poland, Armenia, Georgia, France, Netherlands, Sweden, Ukraine, Moldova, Romania, Tunisia and the US.
We organize trainings through Erasmus+, courses and workshops at schools and organizations, as well as 'Salaam Shalom', interfaith work with a focus on Jewish-Muslim relations.
How can you contribute to the Network in your country?
We can be the focal point for Jewish Muslim relations, as well as a pedagogical resource for those who wish to engage in dialogue that includes diverse viewpoints, including disagreements.
Why do you want to join the ALF Network?
As the director of Mellem Education, I would like to find out more about ALF's opportunities in order to be able to grow the peace and democracy work here in Denmark. I would also like to connect with others doing similar work, so that we can strengthen each other in supporting equality and freedom in Europe and worldwide.
