General Information

We are a social enterprise that is designed to empower youth and take them out of their comfort zone to explore new possibilities for personal development. We are engaged in youth exchange, education, cultural and social training, language training, volunteering, environmental rights, and development work, especially focusing on the mobility of youth.

Mission and Objectives

Our mission is to empower youth and foster intercultural dialogue through experiential learning and global exchange. Our core objectives include:
1. Youth Empowerment: Providing training and learning opportunities to develop youth leadership and professional skills.
2. Intercultural Dialogue: Building bridges between young people of different social, religious, and ethnic backgrounds to plant mutual understanding.
3. Gender Equality: Actively promoting women’s entrepreneurship and leadership, specifically supporting postgraduates and students since 2014.
4. Social Change: Creating projects that inspire young people to collaborate for positive social transformation within their communities.

Main Projects / Activities

MIHI has a robust history of implementing diverse projects:
- International Mobility: Extensive partnership in Erasmus+ and European Solidarity Corps (ESC) projects across Europe and the Mediterranean, focusing on storytelling, social inclusion, and peacebuilding.
- "Show My Skills" (SMS): An international training course held in rural Egypt, bringing together over 35 nationalities to promote cross-cultural understanding and social cohesion.
- Women’s Empowerment Series: Initiatives like "Girls also Abroad," which encourages and prepares young women for international mobility.
- Local Environmental & Social Projects: Workshops on urban gardening ("Urban Remedy"), non-plastic production ("Enviro-Saviors"), and "Social Inclusion Through Cooking" to integrate refugees in Alexandria.

How can you contribute to the Network in your country?

MIHI can contribute to the Egyptian ALF network by sharing our extensive expertise in managing international youth mobility and intercultural exchange programs. We offer a deep connection to the local community in Alexandria and a proven track record of integrating marginalized groups, including refugees and NEET youth, through non-formal education.

Why do you want to join the ALF Network?

We wish to continue our membership to further amplify our impact within the Euro-Mediterranean region by collaborating with like-minded organizations. The ALF Network provides an essential ecosystem for us to share resources, develop innovative intercultural tools, and stay updated on regional opportunities that align with our mission of promoting peace, equality, and youth leadership. Our continued presence ensures that the voice of Egyptian youth, particularly young women, remains represented in the regional dialogue.
