MindShift MENA is an Egypt-based EdTech social enterprise and training consultancy that designs experiential learning journeys, business simulations, and AI-enabled tools for youth, women, refugees, and civil society organisations across the MENA region. We focus on entrepreneurship, employability, financial literacy, sustainability, and leadership, using gamified simulations and interactive methodologies to turn complex concepts into practical skills.
To date, we have trained and developed more than 16,000 learners, including over 4,000 refugees and asylum seekers, in partnership with UN agencies, development organisations, banks, and local NGOs. Our programs intentionally bring together diverse groups of refugees, host communities, young women and men, and people with disabilities to learn, co-create solutions, and strengthen social cohesion.
With the “Learn with Impact” slogan, MindShift MENA positions itself as a bridge between education, technology, and development. By combining digital tools, AI, and inclusive pedagogy, we help partners across the Euro-Med region design impactful programs that empower young people and communities to actively participate in their societies and contribute to a more just and peaceful future
Mission and Objectives
MindShift MENA’s mission is to design and deliver experiential, tech-enabled learning that empowers youth, women, refugees, and civil society organisations to build sustainable livelihoods, inclusive communities, and a culture of dialogue across the MENA and Euro-Med region. Guided by our slogan“Learn with Impact”, we use gamified business simulations and AI tools to turn learning into real behavioural and socio-economic change.
Our main objectives are to:
- Equip youth, women, and refugees with practical skills in entrepreneurship, employability, financial literacy, sustainability, and leadership so they can actively participate in and contribute to their societies.
- Promote social cohesion and intercultural dialogue by designing programmes where refugees, host communities, young women and men, and people with disabilities learn and collaborate on joint solutions.
- Leverage EdTech, AI, and business simulations to make complex topics accessible, engaging, and action-oriented for diverse learners across the Euro-Med region.
- Strengthen the capacity of schools, universities, NGOs, and community organisations to use experiential learning methodologies that foster critical thinking, empathy, and active citizenship.
- Scale inclusive and gender-sensitive learning models that can be adapted and replicated with partners in different countries to maximise impact and reach.
Main Projects / Activities
MindShift MENA is a regional EdTech learning and consultancy organisation working at the intersection of education, entrepreneurship, and organisational development across Egypt, the MENA region, and Euro-Med countries. Since 2020, we have trained, coached, and mentored over 16,000 youth, women, professionals, and more than 4,000 refugees and asylum seekers, through experiential, gamified, and digital programs.
Our main projects and activities include:
- Youth & Women Entrepreneurship and Incubation Programmes: Business and leadership simulations, coaching, and incubation for young women and men, including TVET schoolgirls (She Leads), university students (AUC, GUC, Ain Shams, ISF), and early-stage entrepreneurs under initiatives such as USAID/DAI Business Egypt, EBRD, and regional startup projects.
- Refugee & Host Community Inclusion: Soft skills, employability, and micro-entrepreneurship programs for refugees and vulnerable youth, designed to strengthen social cohesion and shared understanding between host and displaced communities with ILO Prospects.
- Civil Society & NGO Capacity Building: Institutional strengthening for CSOs working with marginalised groups, including governance reform, gender mainstreaming, safeguarding, financial sustainability, and M&E. This includes regional programmes such as UNESCO Paris’ Going Together project supporting 17 NGOs across 7 Arab countries.
- AI-Powered & Simulation-Based Learning: Development of digital platforms and AI-driven diagnostics that allow learners and organisations to run virtual businesses or organisations, test strategies, and reflect on real-life challenges in areas such as financial literacy, sustainability, advisory skills, and organisational performance.
Through these programmes, MindShift MENA has become a trusted partner for UN agencies, donors, banks, universities, and incubators, using inclusive, evidence-based, and human-centred methods that align closely with the Anna Lindh Network’s goals of dialogue, participation, and cross-cultural collaboration.
How can you contribute to the Network in your country?
We can contribute as an active resource hub and connector within the Anna Lindh Network in Egypt, not just as a beneficiary.
Through MindShift MENA we can:
- Design and deliver capacity-building for Network members (CSOs, youth groups, universities) on experiential learning, digital tools, AI in education, M&E, and organisational development, helping them make their intercultural dialogue projects more engaging and evidence-based.
- Host joint activities that bring together diverse groups (youth, women, refugees, host communities, people with disabilities) using our business and leadership simulations to create safe spaces for dialogue, empathy, and co-creation around shared Euro-Med challenges.
- Support networking and partnership-building by connecting Egyptian members with our existing partners (UN agencies, universities, incubators, banks) and by helping design cross-border projects aligned with ALF priorities in youth, culture, and social cohesion.
- Increase the visibility of the Network in Egypt by integrating ALF activities into our programmes, promoting opportunities through our outreach channels, and sharing success stories from the Egyptian Network with our audiences.
In short, we bring methodology, digital infrastructure, and strong local partnerships that can help the Network reach more young people and communities, especially outside traditional “centre” spaces, with impactful intercultural dialogue initiatives.
Why do you want to join the ALF Network?
As MindShift, we already work with youth, women, refugees, and CSOs in Egypt and the wider region, using experiential learning and simulations to build empathy, cooperation, and shared problem-solving. Being part of the ALF Network will allow us to:
- Co-create intercultural projects with other members, connecting our learners and partners in Egypt with peers across the Euro-Med space.
- Learn from and exchange methodologies with organisations that have strong experience in dialogue, arts, culture, and community work, and integrate these approaches into our simulations and programs.
- Give more visibility and voice to the communities we work with (especially refugees, young women, and marginalised youth) by linking their stories, ideas, and initiatives to a broader regional platform.
We see ALF not only as a network we can benefit from, but as a community of practice where we can contribute our EdTech and capacity-building expertise, and in return grow, improve, and deepen the intercultural dimension of our work in Egypt and beyond.
