General Information

MMKN, established in 2010, is a grassroots NGO focused on creating socially responsible citizens through a model of Volunteering + Education + Innovation = Empowerment. Volunteering is central to its operations, with founders and members freely contributing to its success. MMKN has made a significant impact through its programs, especially the Public-School Support Program (PSSP) and the United Education Support Program (UESP), which aim to support vulnerable students in Lebanon, including refugees and local youth.

Mission and Objectives

MMKN's mission is to transform education, inspiring responsible citizenship.
Objectives: To ignite the power of education through inclusive and innovative initiatives, empowering youth and communities to design an equitable and sustainable society.

Main Projects / Activities

Ongoing Programs:
1. Academic Support Program: MMKN empowers students through after -school tutoring, hands-on learning kits, and
online platforms like gamified education and mobile learning. MMKN programs target Grade 8 and 9 students and include university volunteer initiatives to foster social responsibility.
2. MMKN Choices Program: uses STEAM Activities to show students how science and math apply to real-life situations. This helps students make informed decisions about future education and careers, with a focus on introducing vocational and technical
pathways. The program includes hands-on workshops, online resources, and activities for younger grades as well.
3. Psychosocial Support Program aims to equip students with social and emotional skills necessary to help them thrive amid all the challenges they face in Lebanon, using art therapy, theater, debate and trauma focused activities.
4. Nada Kadri Scholarship Fund for Education: MMKN honors Nada Kadri, a strong education advocate, by offering scholarships
through the Nada Kadri Fund for Education. This fund helps talented students in under-resourced public schools and university facing high drop-out rates due to the economic crisis and rising tuition fees.
5. MMKN's Women's Empowerment Program equips rural women with income-generating skills in food production and handcrafts. This program not only alleviates poverty and fosters self-reliance, but also preserves cultural heritage and supports public school
students through program revenue.
