General Information

Municipality 101 is a research-based civic and spatial initiative based in Luxembourg that reimagines institutional structures to foster inclusive communities and democratic participation. Municipality 101 introduces the symbolic idea of a “new municipality” representing refugees living in reception centres, positioning them as active members of society rather than passive beneficiaries and encouraging their participation in social and civic life.

Mission and Objectives

The initiative aims to strengthen inclusive governance by empowering refugees and underrepresented communities to actively participate in social and civic decision-making, fostering dialogue and social cohesion.

Main Projects / Activities

Municipality 101 organises exhibitions, roundtables, and participatory assemblies that bring together communities, policymakers, researchers, and civil society to foster participation, inclusive social development, and advocate for community needs and challenges.

How can you contribute to the Network in your country?

Municipality 101 can contribute by facilitating intercultural dialogue, organising participatory events, and sharing inclusive governance practices that connect communities, institutions, and civil society actors in Luxembourg.

Why do you want to join the ALF Network?

Joining the network will support the exchange of knowledge, collaboration, and shared practices that strengthen inclusive governance and community engagement. Through ALF, Municipality 101 aims to contribute its experience in participatory dialogue and refugee inclusion while developing new partnerships that promote mutual understanding and inclusive communities in Luxembourg and beyond.
