Wide scope of local and international projects.

How can you contribute to the Network in your country?

We are interested in contributing to the Barcelona process. In the past we have tried to develop an exhibition on the Dutch relations with Oman, which at the end did not mature. We have several potential project envisaged, especially with music in which we relate Western early and classical music with traditional music genres from the Maghreb, Arab, Turkic and Persian region(s). Also, it should be noted, that we were involved in the activities linked to the UN Year Dialogue among Civilisations (although this is already a quarter of a century ago).

Why do you want to join the ALF Network?

ALF was suggested to us by Kees Hulsman at the meeting on the third round of the implementation of the Faro Convention in the Netherlands. We support the mission of ALF in connecting cultures and building trust. Possibly we can contribute in shaping dialogue in the Euro-Mediterranean region. Note: Jurn Buisman is also Secretary General of ICOMOS and member of the Europa Nostra Council.
