General Information

Introduction to the association:
-Nahdet Misr Association for Comprehensive Development. A civil association that was registered under No. 1492 on 10-4 of 2004 as a geographical scope of work in Minya Governorate.
-The association’s notices were amended on April 30, 2008, making the association’s scope of work nationwide in accordance with the provisions of Law No. 84 of 2002.
-The notice was amended in 2015 to become the association’s main headquarters in Cairo under No. 9982 of 2015, and the scope of its work continues throughout the Republic.
-The association’s conditions have been reconciled in accordance with the provisions of Law No. 149 of 2019, the latest amendment to the Civil Associations Law in Egypt, under registration number 9982.

Mission and Objectives

Vision
A strong, ongoing association that works to empower communities and individuals, especially children, women and girls in slums and poor areas in Egypt through health, social, economic, cultural and environmental development to reach a better society where justice and peace prevail.

The association’s message
• In 2004, a group of young people formed the association as part of their mission and ambitions and to activate their expertise towards the advancement of slum and poor communities in terms of health, education, environmental and economic aspects, especially the development of children, women and girls through the association’s general principle of rights-based participatory development. The association operates at the republic level
The organization's goals
1.Training young people and preparing them as trained cadres in the fields of development and environment (vocational and practical training)
2.. Creating job opportunities for youth and poor and slum communities to contribute to reducing the amount of unemployment in poor communities
3.Empowering women (girls and women) in various areas of life (health, social, economic, educational, etc.)
4.. Raising family health awareness
5.. Raising awareness about family planning and the importance of reproductive health
6.Combating violence against women and girls
7.Paying attention to children from slums and poor areas and preparing them as useful cadres in the future by educating them, integrating them into formal education, and providing them with positive values, skills, and concepts.
8.Protecting the environment from pollution in all different environmental fields

10.Spreading health awareness, establishing health clinics and pharmacies, and holding seminars.
11.Contributing to raising agricultural and livestock production and improving the level of poultry wealth.
12.Improving the level of agricultural land productivity.

13.Raising the cultural and social awareness of poor informal communities by establishing cultural libraries and holding seminars and conferences.
14.Working to eradicate adult illiteracy and contributing to solving the problem of school dropout.

Main Projects / Activities

A proposal to raise community awareness on the issue of child marriage
General goal: Prepare a qualified youth group to support women’s and girls’ issues, and enhance community awareness of the dangers
of child marriage, through capacity building programs and implementing local initiatives with representation from four governorates (Cairo, Giza, Alexandria, Minya), within a two-year period.
The first goal: “Building the capabilities of youth group members in the areas of gender, and international principles and agreements related to it, in addition to enhancing their skills in media advocacy, volunteer work, and leadership skills, to enable them to plan and implement community initiatives independently and effectively.”
The second goal: Strengthening cohesion between members of the youth group by developing continuous and effective communication mechanisms, ensuring good coordination and implementing community initiatives in a coordinated and successful manner.”
