Nansen Dialogue Centre (NDC) Mostar is an independent NGO established in 2000, dedicated to promoting dialogue, peacebuilding, and integrated education in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The organization operates with five experienced staff members and engages in fostering social cohesion through the Nansen Model of Education, policy advocacy, and community projects.

NDC Mostar's annual budgetary resources are derived from international donors, including the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and other embassies. The organization implements its initiatives via workshops, teacher training, policy dialogue, and collaborative school-based activities. Over the years, NDC Mostar has successfully carried out over 40 projects, involving thousands of students, teachers, and local stakeholders.

Main partners and donors include the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, international embassies, and local educational institutions. NDC Mostar's efforts are recognized for bridging ethnic divides and creating inclusive educational environments​

Mission and Objectives

Nansen Dialogue Centre (NDC) Mostar’s mission is to promote dialogue, peacebuilding, and social cohesion among different ethnic, religious, and cultural groups in Bosnia and Herzegovina. By fostering inclusive practices and bridging divides, NDC Mostar works to strengthen democratic values and create sustainable peace within communities.
Objectives
- Promote Integrated Education: Address segregation in schools through the Nansen Model of Education, encouraging collaboration and . understanding among students and teachers of different backgrounds.
- Foster Dialogue and Social Cohesion: Facilitate communication between diverse groups to build trust, reduce conflict, and enhance cooperation.
- Support Policy Advocacy: Advocate for reforms in education and social policies that support inclusivity and equality.
- Empower Communities: Strengthen local capacities for dialogue and collaboration to prevent and resolve conflicts at the community level.
- Engage Stakeholders: Collaborate with schools, local authorities, and international donors to create impactful and sustainable programs​

Main Projects / Activities

Nansen Dialogue Centre (NDC) Mostar is involved in various projects and activities that promote dialogue, peacebuilding, and social cohesion in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
- Integrated Education: NDC Mostar has developed and implemented the Nansen Model of Education, which focuses on promoting integrated schooling to bridge ethnic divides. This includes extracurricular programs in schools across Herzegovina-Neretva Canton​
- Dialogue and Conflict Prevention: The center facilitates dialogue among different communities, supporting face-to-face meetings to address local conflicts and challenges, such as those arising from inter-ethnic tensions​
