*The Environmental Social Organization Network Naturefriends Greece/ NFGR operates as nonprofit Panhellenic corporation. NFGR is inspired by Naturefriends International environmental and social principles. Its members struggle for a society in which no priviledges or discriminations related to political beliefs, religion, sex, skin colour, origin, social class etc. will exist, as, only in such a fair society can sustainability, solidarity and climate justice be fully implemented.NFGR is regular member of International NFI (est. 1895), since 2008.
We cooperate with Universities, Political, Environmental, Social and other Institutes, Research and Scientific Agencies, groups, and public benefit purpose organisations and nonprofit entities, in order to inform, educate, and implement common projects on sustainable development and the protection of manmade environment (charter, art.4.11)
*Young Naturefriends Greece / GRYNF is a group of young people, aged up to 30 years, operating autonomously, following the principles of the NFGR. They have their own means of communication and promote their own action plan.
GRYNF is a member of the International Young Naturefriends (established in 1975) , as well as member of the European Network of Young ones, Biodiversity Action Europe
GRYNF is a special target group in all NFGR projects.
Mission and Objectives
Our motto: “We plan with vision and implement responsibly and transparently, being accountable to the public”.
We are open to cooperations and activities in and out of Greece, for the protection and promotion of cultural heritages, ecosystems, sustainable or alternative tourism, respecting and supporting local traditions and economy, products and services.
The NFGR develops actions in all levels of social life, intervenes and participates in citizens’ networks, responds to invitations, deploys International or European days for the promotion of its views. In parallel, it organizes visits and guided trips to the countryside, parks, historical and archaeological sites, museums et al. In addition, the organization carries out campaigns, implements projects, intervenes in debates and/or bills, organizes and participates in day workshops.
Main Projects / Activities
Among others, some scopes of NFGR activities are:
- Promotion and dissemination of the sustainable development principles, which safeguards environmental protection, social justice, and prosperity.
- Developing relationships with other organizations, associations, and networks.
- Implementation and dissemination of alternative forms of tourism, as well as the organization of free-time activities, compatible with the natural and cultural environment.
-Our association has a wealth of experience and active involvement in the areas of:
a) Urban environment
b) Sustainable local development
c) Resilience and civil protection, according to “The 5 European Disaster Resilience Goals”
d) Environmental and climate education and training for students and adults,
e) Networking and collaborations with the people of Local and Regional Government, Institutes, NGOs, Universities
f) Organization of conferences, workshops, cultural events, environmental - cultural - educational touring.

How can you contribute to the Network in your country?
We can promote the values of culture, human rights, the arts, the protection of vulnerable social groups, the 17 SDGs, peace, cooperation, solidarity, etc.
Why do you want to join the ALF Network?
Because we want to network and collaborate with other Civil Society bodies at the national and European level with various forms of intervention for the protection of the environment, cultural heritage, sustainable development and especially for sustainable tourism, arts and letters.
