NECI Albania is a newly established NGO (January 2024) and part of NECI EU, headquartered in Cyprus, with branches in Malta, Armenia, Romania, Turkey, Italy, Spain, Greece, Portugal, Serbia, Georgia, North Macedonia, and Ukraine. NECI Albania operates with a dedicated team of five staff members, focusing on youth empowerment, social equity, and European cooperation through education, employment programs, and civic engagement initiatives. Our annual budgetary resources come from grants, EU programs, and international partnerships. We implement projects through training sessions, advocacy campaigns, policy dialogue, and networking events, collaborating with European institutions, local NGOs, and international organizations. NECI Albania is committed to fostering inclusive societies, reducing migration, and supporting Albania’s path toward European integration through civic engagement, capacity building, and cross-cultural exchange programs.
Mission and Objectives
NECI Albania is dedicated to fostering social, cultural, and economic development by promoting human dignity, equality, and civic engagement in alignment with European values. Our mission is to empower youth, strengthen democratic participation, and create an inclusive society through education, employment opportunities, and European cooperation.
Our main objectives are to:
1. Promote active citizenship and social inclusion by raising awareness of human rights, combating discrimination, and fostering community engagement.
2. Empower youth and strengthen leadership by equipping young people with skills, training, and opportunities for social and economic development.
3. Enhance education and mobility by supporting educational programs, European projects, and mobility opportunities for youth and adults.
4. Facilitate intercultural dialogue by encouraging cultural exchange, policy discussions, and European partnerships to promote identity, diversity, and inclusion.
5. Support Albania’s European integration by engaging in policy dialogue, capacity-building efforts, and advocacy to contribute to Albania’s EU accession process.
Main Projects / Activities
The organization’s activities focus on four core programmes:
1.Civic engagement and social inclusion
This programme promotes active citizenship and social equality by raising awareness on human rights, combating discrimination, and fostering community engagement. Through advocacy campaigns and volunteer-driven initiatives, the organization empowers marginalized groups and strengthens democratic participation.
2.Community development and youth empowerment
To create stronger and more resilient communities, this programme facilitates collaborations between institutions, stakeholders, and organizations. Through leadership training, entrepreneurship initiatives, and capacity-building programs, the organization equips young people with the skills and opportunities needed to contribute to social and economic development. The programme aims to reduce youth migration and encourage active participation in civic life and policymaking, ensuring that young people play a vital role in shaping Albania’s future.
3.Intercultural dialogue and European cooperation
By facilitating cultural exchange programs, policy discussions, and European partnerships, this programme encourages dialogue on identity, diversity, and inclusion. It aims to connect individuals to European initiatives, fostering a sense of belonging and shared values. The programme supports youth and adult participation in European projects, educational exchanges, and skills development programs to improve employability and cross-cultural learning.
