NAPI is an independent, non-profit, and non-partisan NGO dedicated to improving participatory governance by fostering civic and policy participation and engagement.
Our activities include state-society dialogue, civic information, trainings, coaching, workshops, roundtables, forums, panel discussions, café-debats, and helping youth write and publish policy briefing papers.
In parallel to its civil society activities, NAPI carries out research, training, program design, program management, and M&E for international cooperation and development organizations in the MENA.
NAPI is structured in concentric circles:
Executive team: 6 individuals
Advisory Board: 9 individuals
Network of partners and contributors (i.e. trainers, mentors): >50 individuals
Yearly budget: between $60'000 and $200'000
We partner with numerous local and international NGOs (e.g. InnoPeace, Europiamo, Tamdoult; Citoyens des Rues, Human Security Collective; Digital Citizenship; Oxfam), foundations (e.g. Friedrich Ebert; Konrad Adenauer; Goethe Institut), universities (e.g. Honoris group, Universite Centrale, Graduate Institute of Geneva), international organizations (e.g. UNDP, EU), and think tanks (e.g. Middle East Institute).

Vision
NAPI envisions a strong local, national, and regional participatory and democratic governance through the active engagement of youth in society and governance.
Mission
To this end, NAPI fosters civic engagement among youth in North Africa through dialogue, rigorous research, evidence-based policy advice, advocacy, and networking.
Objectives
More specifically, NAPI’s objectives are:
Foster civic and political engagement among youth
Increase capacity and impact of youth leaders through advocacy and networking
Produce evidence-based policy research and analysis that will improve the quality of public policy
Foster policy discussion and enlarge policy discussion circles
Foster transnational dialogue and South-South cooperation among countries of the MENA region
Improve the quality of international cooperation and development
Main Projects / Activities
We promote broad youth civic and policy engagement, and we support the emergence of young leaders, while developing critical thinking and fostering national and transnational dialogue and cooperation. Hence, our activities include state-society dialogue, civic information, trainings, coaching, workshops, roundtables, forums, panel discussions, café-debats, and helping youth write and publish policy briefing papers.
In short, we do research, training, mentorship, communication, and networking.
How can you contribute to the Network in your country?
NAPI has a rich experience with civil society capacity building and civic engagement, especially with youth. It has developed impactful programs to foster participatory governance, youth engagement, and policy inclusion.
Furthermore, NAPI is uniquely positioned to bridge between the two shores of the Mediterranean, owing to its European base and membership and its North African membership and experience. Hence, it can help strengthen North-South dialogue and cooperation in the Mediterranean.
Why do you want to join the ALF Network?
NAPI would like to support ALF's efforts to promote intercultural dialogue between the 42 countries of the Union for the Mediterranean. It is eager to join ALF's network of NGOs and collaborate with like-minded organizations.
We are also eager to help connect grassroots civil society and high-level policy through dialogue and youth-driven policy analysis.
