Ekološko udruženje "Jezero" is a non-profit, non-governmental and non-party
organization.So far we have carried out a number of environmental projects. In the last
three years we have realized several projects that are related to the work with young
people, community development and tourism development. Since 2008, we have a youth
center as a part of our association .This is the first and only youth center in the municipality
of Živinice, which has over 70,000 inhabitants. The Youth Center provides the following
services: the use of computers, Internet services, copying ... In addition to that, we regularly
organize free English language and Information Technology courses for young people.
As a part of the association we have activities conected with differrent interests of our youth
,like Scout section for children, Speleological section and Folklore section for teenagers and
Hiking section.
Mission and Objectives
The Mission of Ekološko udruženje "Jezero" is promotion and development of civil society,
through lifelong non formal education and support to active engagement.
Our goals are:
- Introducing new contents in the Youth Center
- Strengthening the capacity of youth
- Development of tourism
- Development of local community
- Strengthening and further development of our non-governmental organization
- Sending our volunteers to other countries, strengthening personal capacity ..
Main Projects / Activities
One of the main goals of the Ekološko udruženje "Jezero"is to promote and develop
international cooperation among young people on a European level.
As a part of the association we have activities conected with differrent interests of our youth
,like Scout section for children, Speleological section and Folklore section for teenagers and
Hiking section.
How can you contribute to the Network in your country?
Ekološko udruženje "Jezero"has ten years of experience in the realization of youth projects
and actions on local and international level.
1) Local projects have had the aims on the construction of sports facilities, construction of
playgrounds, construction of local roads, cleaning and decorating the local excursion
destinations.
2) Regional projects have had the aims on connecting young people from north-east of Bosnia
and Herzegovina and education about the program ''Youth in Action''.
3) International projects- our organization participated in the organization of the Summer
School of sustainable development for the South-Eastern Europe, and organized by the
International Peace Camp in Sarajevo.
Our non-governmental organization works with local communities and practitioners in the field of
biodiversity protection of nature and human communities. We strive to protect natural resources, promote
sustainable business and foster efficient management. We implemented several projects in the field of
sustainable development. We created several strategic documents (LEAP; NEAP) for the city of Živinica.
Why do you want to join the ALF Network?
We want to learn about new examples of good practice through a study visit to the other organizations.
The member organizations operate in the same areas as the oure NGO. I hope that the result of this work will be networking and a joint project with one of the organizations participating in this project.oure goals are gathering information about the experiences of other organizations,
The upgraded knowledge will help our
NGO in future work. Our projects will be of higher quality. We will use the modality of working with young people in the field of ecology in our local community.
