Omada En Drasi is a leading non-profit contemporary dance and performing arts organisation based in Cyprus. Founded in 2004, the organisation creates original dance performances, site-specific works, dance films, educational workshops, and community engagement projects that explore contemporary social, cultural, and political issues through movement and interdisciplinary artistic practice.
The organisation's activities include the creation and presentation of new artistic works, national and international touring, dance film production, educational programmes, professional development initiatives, and participatory projects that engage diverse communities. Through its work, Omada En Drasi seeks to foster dialogue, encourage critical thinking, and make contemporary dance accessible to wider audiences.
Omada En Drasi is primarily funded by the Deputy Ministry of Culture of Cyprus and has established itself as one of the country's leading contemporary dance organisations. Since its inception, it has presented work across Cyprus and internationally, collaborating with artists, festivals, cultural institutions, and local communities.
The organisation is also a founding member of Dance House Lemesos, the first artist-run organisation dedicated to the development and promotion of contemporary dance in Cyprus, contributing significantly to the growth and international visibility of the Cypriot dance sector.

Omada En Drasi is dedicated to advancing contemporary dance as a dynamic artistic practice that inspires dialogue, challenges perspectives, and fosters meaningful connections between artists, audiences, and communities. Through the creation of high-quality artistic work, interdisciplinary collaboration, and international exchange, the organisation seeks to contribute to the development of contemporary dance in Cyprus and beyond.
Objectives
To create and present innovative contemporary dance performances, dance films, and interdisciplinary artistic projects of the highest artistic quality.
To support the professional development of artists through research, collaboration, residencies, and opportunities for creative experimentation.
To promote contemporary dance nationally and internationally through touring, partnerships, and participation in international networks and festivals.
To increase public engagement with contemporary dance by developing accessible performances, workshops, educational programmes, and community-based initiatives.
To encourage intercultural dialogue, inclusion, and participation through artistic projects that engage diverse communities and address contemporary social issues.
To contribute to the sustainable development of the contemporary dance sector in Cyprus through collaboration, advocacy, and capacity building.
To strengthen international cooperation by developing long-term partnerships with artists, organisations, and cultural institutions across Europe and beyond.

Omada En Drasi develops a diverse programme of artistic, educational, and community-based activities that promote contemporary dance and interdisciplinary performance in Cyprus and internationally. Its main activities include:
Creation and Production: Research, development, and production of original contemporary dance performances, interdisciplinary works, and dance films.
Touring and Presentation: Presentation of productions at theatres, festivals, cultural venues, public spaces, and international platforms in Cyprus and abroad.
Dance Film: Creation and dissemination of dance films and digital artistic content, exploring new formats for choreography and audience engagement.
Education and Training: Delivery of workshops, masterclasses, lectures, and educational programmes for professional artists, students, young people, and the wider community.
Community Engagement: Development of participatory projects that encourage inclusion, intercultural dialogue, and active public participation through dance and movement.
International Collaboration: Participation in European cooperation projects, artist exchanges, residencies, co-productions, and partnerships with international cultural organisations.
Research and Artistic Development: Support for artistic research, experimentation, and the development of new choreographic practices and interdisciplinary methodologies.
Sector Development and Advocacy: Contribution to the advancement of the contemporary dance sector in Cyprus through collaboration, networking, knowledge exchange, and its active role as a founding member of Dance House Lemesos.

Omada En Drasi has over twenty years of experience in developing and delivering contemporary dance and interdisciplinary performing arts projects in Cyprus and internationally. As one of the country's leading dance organisations and a founding member of Dance House Lemesos, we are well positioned to strengthen the network's presence and impact in Cyprus.
We can contribute by connecting the network with artists, cultural organisations, festivals, educational institutions, and local communities, fostering new partnerships and opportunities for collaboration. Why do you want to join the ALF Network?
Our initial interest in the Anna Lindh Foundation arose through the open call for cultural and intercultural activities in Matera and Tétouan. As we explored the Foundation's work and mission in greater depth, we recognised a strong alignment between ALF's commitment to intercultural dialogue, inclusion, and Euro-Mediterranean cooperation and the values that have guided Omada En Drasi since its foundation.
Through contemporary dance and interdisciplinary performance, we create projects that bring people together, encourage dialogue, and engage communities with diverse cultural and social backgrounds. As an organisation based in Cyprus, at the crossroads of Europe and the Mediterranean, we believe that joining the ALF Network would enable us to build meaningful partnerships, exchange knowledge and good practices, and contribute actively to a vibrant network of organisations using culture as a catalyst for social cohesion and mutual understanding.
