OMA Egypt is a youth-driven civil-society organization fostering Euro-Mediterranean citizenship, social inclusion, intercultural dialogue, and sustainable development. It is non-partisan, non-religious, and operates locally and internationally through training, advocacy, and cultural exchange.
In September 2025, the President of Oyoun Masr Association was elected to lead the Egyptian Youth Organizations Federation, marking a significant milestone in advancing youth participation and civic leadership at the national level.
OMA obtained the prize of the last Prof. Adel Abou-Zahra in the field of the freedom of expressing opinion and dialogue, from Bibliotheca Alexandrina, at the closing session of "The Arab Reformation Conference" (March 2006).
OMA mentioned in the booklet of "The Successful Experiences in the Arab World", which was issued in the Arab Youth Conference "Culture of Thinking and Reformation" (February 2007), Bibliotheca Alexandrina.
Mission and Objectives
Vision: A Euro-Mediterranean community united by a shared sense of belonging, inclusion, and dialogue among cultures.
Mission: To empower youth as active citizens, promote social peace, coexistence, and intercultural understanding, and strengthen civil-society participation in democratic and sustainable development processes.
Core Objectives:
-Spread a culture of volunteerism, civic responsibility, and human rights protection.
-Promote gender equality, social inclusion, and peaceful conflict resolution.
-Support youth entrepreneurship and green transition through innovation and social enterprise.
-Encourage cultural participation, literacy, and heritage preservation.
-Build partnerships among civil-society organizations in the Euro-Mediterranean region.
OMA believes in empowering young people as agents of change capable of transforming their communities through dialogue, creativity, and participation.
Main Projects / Activities
OMA Egypt has implemented and partnered in over 40 national and international initiatives promoting human rights, youth participation, and cultural dialogue. Key examples include:
Refugees Welcome Unit: Provides legal support, awareness campaigns, and protection against sexual and gender-based violence for refugees in Egypt.
Made in EuroMed Project: Partnership-building initiative fostering responsible trade, CSR, and job creation across Mediterranean countries.
“In Short and Fruitful” (with UNESCO Cairo Office): National campaign promoting freedom of expression, civic participation, and youth leadership.
Civilization Ambassadors Winter Camp: Promotes intercultural dialogue and heritage awareness among Mediterranean youth.
Uncut Girls: Advocacy and awareness project combating Female Genital Mutilation (FGM), leading to legislative reform in Egypt (2020).
Green Europe & Organic Life Initiatives: Youth-led actions promoting environmental sustainability, plastic-free living, and urban agriculture.
CUBE – Igniting Creative Minds through CCIs Entrepreneurship: Capacity-building project developing creative and cultural entrepreneurship skills among youth.
Conflict: An Opportunity for Learning & Stories Behind Minds: Non-formal education programmes on peacebuilding, cultural diversity, and digital storytelling.
OMA was the first elected Head of the Egyptian Anna Lindh Network (2012–2013), and continues to serve as a leading platform for intercultural dialogue and youth cooperation in Egypt and the Euro-Mediterranean region.
Since April 2013, Oyoun Masr Association (OMA Egypt) has held the presidency of the Egyptian National Network of the Euro-Med Youth Federation, leading national efforts to promote youth participation, intercultural dialogue, and Euro-Mediterranean cooperation.
How can you contribute to the Network in your country?
Oyoun Masr Association (OMA Egypt) can make a substantial contribution to the Anna Lindh Foundation Network in Egypt by mobilising its long experience, national outreach, and Euro-Mediterranean partnerships to strengthen intercultural dialogue, civic participation, and youth empowerment.
As the first elected Head of the Egyptian National Network of the Anna Lindh Foundation (2012–2013), OMA Egypt has a deep institutional memory of the Foundation’s mission and values. Building on this legacy, we can contribute in several concrete ways:
-Reactivating Local Dialogue and Visibility:
Organising intercultural cafés, youth forums, and cultural events in Alexandria, Cairo, and Upper Egypt to showcase the work of member organisations and create a stronger public presence for the Foundation’s values of coexistence, inclusion, and human dignity.
-Capacity-Building and Knowledge Sharing:
Offering workshops and peer-learning sessions for network members on EU project design, monitoring, and digital communication, based on our proven record in Erasmus+, CERV, and Global Gateway initiatives.
-Youth and Civil-Society Mobilisation:
Engaging young people, activists, and educators through non-formal education methods to promote civic responsibility, gender equality, and environmental awareness, ensuring youth voices are central in national dialogue initiatives.
-Cross-Mediterranean Cooperation:
Leveraging our partnerships with European and Southern-Mediterranean NGOs to facilitate joint projects, staff exchanges, and cultural collaborations that expand the Egyptian network’s international reach.
-Communication and Digital Outreach:
Using our established digital platforms (www.oyounmasr.com
and social-media channels) and our partnership with MegaCloud Solutions to develop shared visibility tools, newsletters, and online campaigns amplifying the Network’s impact.
Through these actions, OMA Egypt aims to serve as a connector, mentor, and catalyst within the Anna Lindh Foundation Network—fostering solidarity among members, enhancing their capacities, and ensuring that Egyptian civil society continues to be a leading voice for intercultural dialogue and social progress in the Euro-Mediterranean region.

Oyoun Masr Association seeks to rejoin the Anna Lindh Foundation Network to renew its long-standing commitment to intercultural dialogue, civic participation, and shared Euro-Mediterranean values. As the first elected Head of the Egyptian National Network of the Anna Lindh Foundation (2012–2013), our association has a historic connection to the Foundation’s mission of fostering understanding, inclusion, and cooperation among peoples and cultures.
Rejoining the Network will allow us to:
-Strengthen collaboration with national and regional civil-society actors who share our goals of peacebuilding, social cohesion, and cultural exchange.
-Share our 25 years of experience in youth empowerment, human rights, and sustainable development with other members.
-Contribute to the Foundation’s new priorities, including gender equality, green transition, and digital transformation, by integrating them into our ongoing projects and national dialogues.
-Access knowledge, visibility, and partnership opportunities that amplify the impact of our intercultural initiatives in Egypt and across the Mediterranean.
In essence, we wish to rejoin the ALF Network to continue building bridges between societies, empower youth as agents of dialogue, and reinforce Egypt’s active role in shaping a peaceful and inclusive Mediterranean community.
