Mission and Objectives
Pangaea Youth Network is a youth-led organisation based in Horsens, Denmark, dedicated to empowering young people through non-formal education, intercultural dialogue, and community engagement. Our mission is to connect local and international youth, promote social inclusion, and encourage active participation in sustainable and creative initiatives. We create safe and inclusive spaces where young people can develop their skills, express their ideas, and build meaningful connections across cultures.
Main Projects / Activities
Pangaea Youth Network organises international and local initiatives that connect young people from different cultures and backgrounds through non-formal learning. Our main activities include Erasmus+ Youth Exchanges, training courses, and local community projects in Horsens, Denmark.
In 2024–2025, our international projects focus on youth empowerment, digital literacy, sustainability, and creative expression. Some examples include “Get Your Own Picture” (videography and active citizenship), “Pay It Forward” (storytelling and short film creation), and “GameRoots” (traditional games for inclusion). These initiatives engage youth aged 15–30 from across Europe, including Spain, Germany, Italy, Luxembourg, Turkey, Greece, Estonia, Sweden, and Denmark.
Locally, we run weekly activities at the Pangaea Youth Space in Horsens, such as community dinners made from saved food, board game nights, cultural exchange evenings, and creative workshops. These events aim to reduce loneliness, build community connections, and promote sustainability.
Pangaea Youth Network also supports returning Erasmus+ participants in leading local follow-up workshops, where they share the skills and inspiration gained from international projects with their peers. Our activities combine intercultural dialogue, creativity, and social responsibility to strengthen community participation and youth leadership.
How can you contribute to the Network in your country?
Pangaea Youth Network can contribute to the Danish Anna Lindh Foundation Network by creating meaningful spaces for intercultural dialogue and youth engagement in Horsens and other Danish cities. Through our active youth community at the Student Village Kamtjatka and our Pangaea Youth Space, we can host events, workshops, and discussions that connect Danish and international young people living in Denmark.
We can collaborate with other network members to organise community dinners, creative workshops, intercultural game nights, and storytelling events that promote trust, understanding, and active participation among diverse communities. Our team has strong experience in non-formal education, youth leadership, and Erasmus+ project coordination, which we can share with fellow organisations through peer-learning and collaboration.
As an active organisation, we are also ready to support ALF Denmark initiatives, co-host local or regional gatherings, and involve youth volunteers in intercultural dialogue campaigns, such as the Day of the Mediterranean. By connecting young people from various cultural and social backgrounds, Pangaea Youth Network aims to make ALF values visible and lived at the community level in Denmark.
Why do you want to join the ALF Network?
By attending the Celebrating Our Diversity Forum 2025 in Sweden, I became deeply convinced of the powerful positive impact that the Anna Lindh Foundation and its network have on local communities. Being surrounded by inspiring organisations and individuals from so many countries showed me how much change can happen when we connect through shared values of dialogue, trust, and cooperation. Having such a network feels both powerful and empowering.
During this conference, I had the chance to connect with many international network members, and it already feels like Pangaea Youth Network belongs to the Anna Lindh Foundation family. We share the same vision of bringing people together, building understanding between cultures, and creating local actions that reflect the strength of the Euro-Mediterranean partnership.
We want to join the ALF Network to actively contribute to its mission in Denmark and across borders. Through our intercultural youth activities, sustainability projects, and Erasmus+ collaborations, we can support ALF’s efforts to strengthen social cohesion and empower young people to take initiative in their communities. Being part of the network will also allow us to learn from other members, exchange practices, and create new partnerships that connect local realities with international opportunities.
For Pangaea Youth Network, becoming a member of the Anna Lindh Foundation is not just about belonging to a network — it is about joining a community of action, where collaboration and solidarity help transform ideas into real impact for youth and society.
